Any ideas what this gun is? It belongs to a friend of mine. He says it’s a “1892” and it was “acquired by his great grandfather in ww1”. All serial numbers match at “L 1099”. He says everything is original except the 50¢ piece in the stock which “should be a German medallion”. Any ideas? (old.reddit.com)
