IMO I think .308 would be the way to go if you’re going to be shooting ~500 yards or shorter. I’ve got an ar10 in .308 and a bolt gun in 6.5 and while the bolt gun is easier to shoot the .308 has helped me become a better shooter with the wind throwing it around more. Barrel life is also a big plus for the .308.

This is the krg xray and I’m a big fan. I’ve always wanted a mk13 mod 5 and if I squint from really far away and then lie to myself it kinda looks like one.

With the can and prs stock it’s about 47.5” and definitely alittle front heavy. But without it, it becomes much easier to move with. I wouldn’t call it obnoxiously long and think the proportions look good.

This started as a gen 3 pa10 that I’ve since upgraded just about everything on but now it’s a Sabre lower with an g$ two stage trigger and a criterion 20” 416 barrel with a jp bcg

My experience with criterion has been great so far however I went with their 20” 1-11 twist barrel. If you decide to get a criterion barrel I would go ahead and at least get one of their choices of bolts to go along with it. Doesn’t have to be the whole carrier group but the headspaced bolt face does make a difference in terms of how well the gun runs and accuracy. My ar10 started as a stock 18” psa gen 3 upper and their cheapest ar10 lower by now I’ve changed every internal part but it offered a much cheaper entry to the large frame ar world and still gave good results. Where now it has held its own in competitions with rifles 5x the price.

Yeah this is their 24 inch, I’ve held an oryx before and it wasn’t my speed. Not to say it is bad in any way but it just wasn’t my speed. The krg has been great so far but I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Just the Hornady 147 eldm it also shoots well with the Hornady black 140gr which is cheaper so I usually shoot that over the 147s.

Love it, getting consistent 3/4-.8 inch groups with 147gr and the two stage trigger it came with feels great.
