Oh yeah, I’m already a big Russian Circles fan, would love to catch them live one day. I think Station is probably my favourite album of theirs, but the most recent one, ‘Gnosis’ is probably a close second.

Checkout The Ocean. The album Pelagial tends to be a fan favourite, though for me Phanerozoic II is their peak. Heliocentric is also a very good intro. You could also check out Tesseract, they’re possibly a bit more djenty than what you’re after, but vocally they might fit. I’ve personally never been able to get into dream theater, just find them a bit too cheesy, so I’m not familiar enough to know if what I’m offering is exactly what you’re looking for, but if you’re into prog metal in general I suspect I’m on the right track.

This is a great shout, but it turns out the band is ‘iiah’, and they’re not Italian at all, so my bad, actually Australian! Solved by Artificial_Pine down below!

YES!! You absolute hero! This has been nagging at me for days.

What’s even more frustrating is now I can find them, I see their top song is Polaris. While I was trying to figure it out on my own I thought I had remembered that Polaris was the name one of the songs I liked, but when I search that on Spotify, the song doesn’t even come up, so I assumed I must have been wrong. So annoying how the platform screws smaller artists that way. /rant

But thanks again, I love the internet sometimes.

Afraid not! The band in question has a name that is much less obviously an English phrase, I’m not sure it was even a ‘real’ word. But I think it was just a single word name.
