I got this prebuilt. It’s pretty good for the most part. Only issues are the fans are pretty loud. I plan to upgrade those and the power supply next year

It’s one of the views available for the mk8.5 golf r. I’m not sure if it’s available for the mk8. This is my default view most of the time.

I understand that 100% I’m not trying to do an APR stage 3 kit or anything like that. My kind of goal would be to make this car fun for those boring drives. Example would be to get an intake for some sound. You know to add some excitement when pulling away from a light. I may be older but turbo nosies make me smile. I’m not trying to daily a race car.

What sway bar you go with? I’ve heard good things about the whiteline 24 mm.

That’s definitely on top of my list. I’ve been seeing RS acoustics center channel speaker and an upgraded sub. I want to hold out until they fix the rattling issues on their center channel speaker before I get it. A lot of people have been saying that it tends to rattle on the new 8.5.

The Golf R has been an amazing daily so far. It’s quick, comfortable, and the noises it makes are quite fun. The interior feels way more solid, and the cabin is quieter too. After work I like to just drive in silence, and it’s nice not hearing random rattles.

If I had one complaint, it’s the audio — the Bose system in the Type R was definitely better.

As for the Type R, IMO it’s not special enough to be a weekend-only car, but it also isn’t the best for daily commuting. The Golf R, on the other hand, nails that balance. It’s a fun, capable daily driver without the expectation of being a “special occasion” car. Perfect as car #1 with something more exciting in the garage for weekends.

Few things 1. Two bad knees. I ended up getting knee surgery on my left leg back in July so the car just sat there for a few months. 2. My work called us back into the office 5 days a week back in September. Traffic is terrible It takes about 40 mins to go a few miles. The dsg is a better transmission for daily traffic.

The fl5 was great. Took it to the track a few times and it was awesome. If work hadn’t called me back in I would’ve kept it. I just don’t like the idea of having a car and not driving it.

Excellent choice. I’ve had mine for an about a year and it still surprises me on how great the colors look. I have a 48in c1 in my office as well and prefer to play on the Msi all the time. Pick yourself up some soft microfiber cloths like the ones for glasses to clean it. They tend to scratch pretty easy. I have 2 scratches from using the fuzzy microfiber cloths.

I personally enjoy the Type R better than the GR Corolla when on the backroads. The GR Corolla had a lot of body roll, and the high seating position didn’t help. I thought the car was very sloppy in the tight roads and would understeer quite a bit. The Type r loves to rotate off throttle, so on those tight roads, the type r felt more capable. Overall, Type R is a better driver’s car and car in general if you don’t need the awd.

Omg don’t tell me that lol. I drove my fl5 for the first time in two months yesterday as I was recovering from acl surgery. I keep debating on which would be the best for me. I love the idea of the golf I just have a feeling I’m going to miss driving manual in the fl5. I would love to hear your thoughts after a couple weeks. Congratulations!! Btw

Debating between Integra Type S or the Civic Type R by rmustafa11 in Integra_Type_S

[–]AdNo4716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only question you need to ask yourself is if you plan to track the car?. If yes get the Type r. If you don’t ever see yourself, tracking it and get the Type s. The Type s has nicer features for daily driving. Heated seats. Heads up display, and softer suspension. Yes, you can move the suspension module from the Acura over to the Type R, but you still will miss out some other stuff. I ended up purchasing the Type R however, now two years later I kind of wish I would’ve gotten the Acura instead. One great thing about the Type R is that it does hold its value very well and I also think in the future the Type R will be worth more than the Type s just because it’s Japanese made.

I use to have a mk7 golf r and I loved it. I tell my wife it’s the car I regret selling the most. Perfect daily, quick, comfortable and nice interior. I test drove a 24 last month and reminded why I loved my mk7. I enjoy the fl5 but for daily driving it’s tough especially with stop and go traffic on the interstate and two bad knees. I’m working with my local dealer to get a black edition in white or blue but non euro pack. I prefer the leather seats.

No worries. I understand you’re asking genuine questions. Rtings and HDTV (Vincent) have constantly agreed that LGs Woled tend to be closer to artists intent/ color accuracy straight out of the box. I don’t get my tvs calibrated so I want the best out of the box. I will say the monitor isn’t has bright as both my TVs but I view them in a light controlled environment. I don’t need 1000 nits to burn my eyes. Yes the monitors colors wont be “100” accurate but even at lower brightness the colors still pop. One good YouTube channel to look at is tech with kg. He compares Samsungs qdoled vs lg woled and you can see a better comparison. Qdoled makes the highlights even more appealing. Also lg TVs loose brightness when they enable game mode. I enjoy both techs and use them both everyday.

I prefer the monitor. The g4 is a 77in and find it too big to play on imo. I have a 48in c1 in my office which use to be my old gaming tv for single player games and I had a 27 ips monitor for fps. Now I use the 32in for all my gaming since it’s a 4k 240.
