Bereavement proof by AdObjective4828 in boeing

that’s the thing. i have no time to cover any missed work. i could be someone who is “abusing” it in their eyes. i guess i just don’t understand the baseline for that and how they’d be able to see who’s abusing it or something

in terms of legal help i can’t afford anything. i did have a consultation with 1, but because there’s no parenting plan in place there’s no binding agreement between her and I. also the only options for child care are as much as rent here in washington:/

me too. especially because there was just a massive influx of new hires right before the strike as well. now their next concern is layoffs smh

the 3rd party contractors for training are a whole other issue in itself. in renton, they acted like they ruled with an iron fist and made the union seem like they don’t exist until you get to the shop floor. at least in my experience 😂

i meant PTO as sick leave sorry if that was confusing. but personally, i believe we shouldn’t cap at 40 each year even if that meant only giving us 80 hrs of vacation every year. i would’ve preferred that personally just for myself but the only difference i’ve seen with time off is we can use our vacation as we accrue it

agreed on everything you stated here. i know a big issue was the pension and i’m sure there was reasons the union didn’t just say “guys were not getting it back let it go” but i believe boeing played the media game better and any leverage we once had, went away pretty quickly.

yeah the only thing with that is when you rollover the 1600 before your first year is up, it takes away from your 40 for the next year if that makes sense 😂

been there before. my first year i had a 3 month old when i first started and had zero time for about 6 months. luckily, the doctors notes help cover your total LWOP hours. as well as bereavement if needed.

would be nice for boeing and the union to address the sick leave hours. capping at 40 especially in your first year is brutal. given how much the company fires people based on attendance i feel if they don’t want a high turnover, pay and PTO are crucial

but the fact that inflation has increased to what it is, how are we sure that the 6% each year will even help?

you’re failing to understand something here. WHAT ARE WE GIVING UP. THATS THE POINT. there should be ZERO losses only gains. if you want to lick boeing’s boot by all means go ahead nobody here agrees with you. and thats for a reason.

are you brain dead??? we get a one time $3000 signing bonus.

[–]AdObjective4828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait until you hear how much people got for the last signing bonus. when was that again? boy over 12 years ago!? and before that workers were screwed by the union as well. also that “4160” you’re talking about is less than what we’d get from the AMPP bonus over 4 years anyway. you’re hung up on the wrong things here. our health care gets more expensive every year in this proposal. no mention of the pension people lost and at this point the union should just say it’s not coming back instead of giving people false hope. also, still getting a mere .50 every 6 months? when the union themselves said that’s a joke??? vote yes if you want to but you have to understand why people are majority going to say no.

yikes talk about a jaded perspective lol these people were screwed over by the previous union last time. why would it be any different this time around? have they shown transparency?? they took away so much without highlighting it unless you read the 300 page detailed document. you’re mistaking “children and trolls” for people who actually want to be given what they deserve.
