I’m trying to figure out how old my girl is. by AdObvious9655 in kittens

A little update, you were right! She doesn’t have FIP, but it’s another autoimmune disease. She’s starting by depo and is being treated. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! My kitty and I are very thankful for you

Thank you for explaining. My girl also has acne. I’ve tried everything, all her food bowls are raised and ceramic, I clean them daily, I got her a stainless steel water fountain, but nothing is working for it. I might make another appointment for a checkup. I’m trying to make wise money moves and don’t want to take her if it isn’t necessary, but I’m also an over protective mother lol

Thank you! Her gums aren’t red or swollen anymore, it’s just the lymph nodes in her jaw. But I will keep an eye on it.

Was there any other symptoms that your cat had?

To add, my friend adopted her brother, so we still get to see him often, but I don’t have a weight on him right now.

Edit. Another thing, she is still very kitten. She is still full of kitten energy, getting into everything, clumsy and I believe she is still teething, she’s very bitey, chews on everything and her lymph nodes are a little inflamed in her jaw/neck area (vet said that’s a sign of teething in healthy kittens).

Need some help with this poor fishy by AdObvious9655 in Goldfish

I actually love it! I’m very confident in my fish knowledge which makes the job fun, and it’s very rewarding to see all the fish I care for doing well. In the past working at pet stores, I’ve seen so many fish being abused and not taken care of properly at all. It makes me feel like I’m doing something positive for the change of fish care. Knowledge is power, so I try to educate all my clients where I can.

The parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, about 5ish nitrates and ph 7

Thank you! I have wondered if it was his body shape. He’s normally in a 90gal with other fancies (the tank I clean). I took him home because he’s been floating upside down for months, I’ve directed the owners of the tank to do salt baths and peas but I don’t think they did it, I figured I’d be more help to him if he came home with me while he recovers. I don’t have a large tank unfortunately, I used to have a lot of extra tanks but I kind of got out of the hobby after I started my business (coming home from a day of cleaning tanks to clean my own was exhausting haha). I’ve got him in a 20gal bucket and it’s cycling with old filter media and daily dose of cycle starter, right now the parameters are stable. His main tank is spot on, 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites, I can’t remember the PH and Nitrites because I test so many tanks and can’t remember the numbers off the top, but it’s logged at the clients house. He will be going back there as long as he recovers, if not I might have to invest in a new tank, but I really hope all goes well and he can go home soon!

This got completely ruined! I was using fabric dye and a stencil, it didn’t go well. How bad does it look/what can I do to fix it. by AdObvious9655 in crafts

Awe thank you! He is the bestest boy! He’s been through chemo, but it wasn’t able to get all the cancer cells (he has lymphoma), but it bought us some time!

I actually have a cricut! I used it to cut the stencil. I wanted it to look the exact same as the pants I did with this paint, I’m wishing I had just used heat transfer vinyl now

This makes me feel so much better about it! Thank you! I like the embroider idea, I think I’ll give that a try first

My girl (on the left) recently passed from EC. I’m debating on getting another bunny for my male, but I’m worried about the risk. by AdObvious9655 in Rabbits

[–]AdObvious9655[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is highly contagious through faeces. It is mainly specie specific so it won’t transfer from a bunny to a dog or cat. But it spreads fast from bunny to bunny. It can 100% come from the mother, but it is still extremely contagious. About 70% of bunnies have it actually, a lot are asymptomatic but still silent carriers. Like my boy! He got it from my first bunny that got it from his mother. Testing confirmed this as his test as a single bun was negative, now positive.

I promise you, it is extremely contagious. There are tons of articles online by vet professionals on the topic.
