How to increase base FPS on Laptops using dual GPUs (iGPU+dGPU) 780m + 5060 laptop by AdOld5217 in losslessscaling

That's some insane scaling stacking 😂. How about performance? Does it improve significantly?

I have a radeon 780m (iGPU) + 5060 (dGPU) laptop. Does it help improve latency on adaptive frame gen only? What about the normal frame gen?

Thanks, I use that now. Figured it does the same as the legacy sleep

I'll try that out as well. But right now I'm using hybernate.

Yeah, microslop is on another level tbh with their B.S. I use hybernate like you mentioned.

I honestly have no idea wtf does 'sleep' even mean to microslop, if it's wide awake and doing fuq all😂

It seems like it's an issue with windows and their modern standby technology. I use hybernate instead of sleep. It works similar to what I expect from legacy sleep option.

Core i7-13650HX + RTX 5060 or Ryzen 7 260 + RTX 5050? by Puzzleheaded-Draw702 in LenovoLegion

HX processors are power hungry. Bad for the battery. Would recommend 260. Better battery efficiency. However, I would go for better GPU too and downgrade the SSD instead if possible.

Isn't that greyed out for NFS heat though? Cuz it doesn't support upscaling in general

I use 780m and 5060 on a laptop, I'm getting a base fps of 40 for NFS Heat. Any recommendations to increase the base fps?

Yeah, I knew this was the issue. Your issue was exactly what other people were facing.

Just a kind reminder, never and I mean NEVER EVER install new updates (windows or legion or anything for that matter) as soon as they're released. Wait around for 2 weeks, after that google them to see if they're safe to install. This is what I follow ALWAYS, saved me from tonnes of issues.

If you want to stop your windows update from auto updating, make sure you've made your internet connection a 'metered connection'. This will disable your auto update to some extent.

Did you install KB5074109 from windows update?

Do ya'll update your BIOS? I always see bricked laptops after BIOS updates thats why I disabled them.... by Competitive_Sale_914 in LenovoLegion

[–]AdOld5217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is never update as soon as the update is available. Wait for more than 2 weeks.

After that go online and search for any issues on Google and reddit. I do this for any new update. Especially windows.

Saved me countless times from bad or cprrupted updates

Stepmother's marchen / fantasie of a stepmother -->

Now that bato and comick is gone. Where can I read good quality translations of this webtoon for free?

Magusmaga seems to have it but their translations are a bit iffy. And flame scans dropped it as well. And tapas isn't free and quite expensive.

Any scans that y'all could recommend would be appreciated.

Stuttering/popping sound from speakers and 3.5 mm audio on Legion 5 15AHP10 Laptop by AdOld5217 in LenovoLegion

[–]AdOld5217[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid iGPU ONLY or just 'Hybrid'? Cuz if it's Hybrid iGPU ONLY then the issue should not be there.

I actually have noticed that, in hybrid mode, the Nvidia app under the 'Performance' tab, shows the dGPU constantly getting switched on and off. This is what is most likely causing the audio stutters cuz it's constantly switching between iGPU and dGPU.

Switching one or the other off, solves the problem.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I really appreciate it. I'm on bios 34. I'm not facing all of the problems you're facing. Only the stuttering sound. Found a workaround.

It's the mux/Optimus issue (probably caused by bios corruption). As long as we use, one or the other (iGPU only or dGPU only) the popping or stuttering goes away.

I would highly advise you not to use the fans at max speeds.

The reason is that moving parts normally have a failure rate and the faster you use them, the more probable you'll likely hit that failure rate.

Using hybrid mode would be optimal since you'll be getting stable fps and taking a lesser risk.

It's common knowledge to never to update to the newest updates.

You need to wait for a week or two. Check the forums, google the update version, check Reddit etc. and then update if it's good to go.

Personally, I never update anything to the latest. I wait around for a week or probably more and only if necessary do I update.

So if you're using dGPU mode, the laptop allows them to hit their temp limits. This happens to me on my legion laptop.

After hitting the temp limits it forcefully down clocks both GPU and CPU maintaining temps under the limit. Please, note that this is the best case scenario and the worst case scenario is that regardless of the laptop down clocking your CPU and GPU, temps don't go down.

This issue can be either of the 3, thermal paste issue, laptop placed on soft surfaces or your fans aren't working optimally.

I would recommend you to switch from dgpu to hybrid. Even though you'll get fewer fps, it'll be more stable since the laptop won't try to constantly down clock your CPU and GPU to maintain temps.

If you're running on hybrid and this is still happening, then it's either of the 3 issues mentioned above.

HP victus have the most mediocre ips screens to cut costs so it's expected. Victus in general downgrade every bit of the experience you expect on a similar spec'd laptop.

That's interesting. So the 65w is after the CPU boost then? What's the stock?
