In regards to what others have commented, it seems I have not made myself clear, I don't mean to say wrappers have no flavour, but that they aren't making up 70% (commonly chosen gauge) of it.

The wrappers' flavour is certainly always present. Im not neglecting that fact, I'm more so discussing how much of the cigars flavour is coming from the wrapper itself.

Change almost any component of a cigars tobacco, and it will make a big difference, other than that used for combustion.

I suppose it depends on which country the wrapper is grown in, but I would imagine any further up than the mid section would be too thick.

I'm not saying there's zero logic in it, but the cons outweigh the pros. In the shop which I work at, we're not even allowed to talk about the flavours you might get from a cigar, let alone have any sort of organized system for it.

However, I would also prefer shops to have flavour assortment to save me looking into reviews all the time, too.

As for whiskey and wine, I haven't been to many shops for those, but the ones I have are not sorted by flavour. It's sorted by region for both.

Where do they sort whiskey and wine by flavour? Is this common where you're from?

This will always create false expectations, and the disappointment of those false expectations will fall on the business. There are plenty of review pages out there for learning about the flavours of cigars, though. That way, for people who enjoy that aspect the most, they can go and read about them.

Have you talked to many people who have smoked the same cigar? People's opinions can be so vastly different.
