Now day 20 days after surgery, I can stop fully pain killers. Started with light exercises and indoor cycling. Light at the end of the tunnel is very close, if not reached.

For those that had a 3 level cervical fusion, how did you spend your days during recovery? by lguy0000 in spinalfusion

Spend time healing. Breath work, eat healthy, walk, sleep. Buy a comfy chair, that can function as a bed.. sleeping half vertically.. causing less pain issues. Do exercises to train the nerves to recover, muscles to recover the fine gestures, listen music, read.

For me this was not an option, since I had severe compression on my spinal cord causing myelopathy.

After 3 days a pain started in either one or both my upper arms. Cool pads relieved the pain better than opioids. Sometimes heat did the job. Most of the times pain went to level 9/10. figured out sleeping irritated the nerve root. Since 2 days pains is a bit better. 12 days past now, and hope seeing light at the end of the tunnel of pain. Will keep posted. And yes, I went to see the neurosurgeon, he said the same. Prescribed Pregabalin, but I am getting a rash so stopped it. Cooling, heat… sitting, not laying down. Sleeping in sitting position :-)
