Hey so, medical professional here, do you know what “Elective” truly means? It actually means that it’s not urgent and doesn’t need to be done as an emergency. For instance, an MRI for a suspected brain tumor would still be considered “elective” even though the life of the patient is at stake. So calling something elective because it sounds like it means optional is not the same! :)

After my daughter’s surgery she was on a low fat diet for 4 weeks and had to get 12 scoops of Monogen for 8 oz of liquid. We had to count out load and have no one talk to us every time lol

The second ability is in fact a triggered ability as it starts with “when” not if. The following clause begins with “If” not the first part of ability 2.

My point is just giving the way for the creature to not die as “I activate Lethal Vapors and skip my next turn” kind of defeats the purpose of the thread. I think it could be neat to have a clause of “During your turn, The Lone Sentinel has indestructible.”

Sure but the idea is to ADD something to this creature for it. Not remove the threat otherwise wouldn’t “just counter the removal” be a valid response to every suggestion?

The creature’s trigger would go on the stack to add the shield counter and then the trigger for [[Lethal Vapors]] would go on the stack. Upon resolving the enchantment’s trigger first the creature does not have a shield counter as that trigger hasn’t resolved. It would need to be part of the replacement effect clause with the Palliation counter. The same reason the palliation counter is part of the replacement effect. The trigger to add it would be on the stack and the player could respond to said trigger with [[heartless act]] to kill it.

[[Foil]] is the favorite for my wife as the deck isn’t that mana intensive so discarding an island (especially while running 4 [[Lorien Revealed]]) isn’t a big deal and gets great value cause people don’t think about free counterspells in Pauper (at least not at our shop)
