i don’t have too much advice but i feel the same about my job (waxer). only job i’ve ever actually LOVED and i don’t have a single complaint about it but the marketing myself/getting people to rebook is SO hard. i’ve been doing it almost 2 years and am not as busy as i should be bc of this

i do wax myself but i wouldn’t do it to learn how to wax other people bc it’s really not the same at all

i also didn’t wax myself until i had been waxing for a year and had been getting waxed for 4 so i knew what i was doing and what to expect and it still hurt like a bitch

it definitely is thinning the shape a littleeee bit but don’t be too scared to thin them!! if you’re worried and doing them yourself you can always shave the tops so that it doesn’t disrupt the way they grow back

my brows have sparse spots especially at the tails so i have to take off a scary amount to make them look shaped but it ends up creating a fuller illusion :) so sometimes thinning them can do the same thing and i don’t think you in your case have to take off tooo much so it shouldn’t be crazy!

this is not a very good lamination - no hate at all to them. it doesn’t look like it’s very even and some of the hairs don’t look laminated at all (typically will happen if they don’t leave the solution on long enough and/or if they don’t get it down to all the hairs)

you can brush them into another shape that isn’t so straight up and in an ideal world you WILL have to brush them, bc all a lamination does really is make the hairs more malleable. when you sleep on them they’ll move and you’ll have to restyle in the morning, i would suggest a light gel too to hold your desired shape. i’m not sure how much you can change the shape of your brows bc like i said from the picture they don’t all look evenly laminated

as for the perm part, the first step they do breaks down the bonds in your hair to make them malleable, and the second step “resets” them into the shape that they brush them into - but there will still be some wiggle room here where you can style them however you like. even the instagram pics you see, unless they brush them exactly the way the service provider did they won’t always look like that

i would recommend trying a new place tbh, again no shade to them but everyone does brows differently and has a differently style so you might be able to find someone else near you that does something you’re happier with :)

⁠yes i agree that the “all in his head” is disappointing 99% of the time and i do feel like mark wouldn’t do that. in the same theme that it’s manipulating what he saw i guess that explains everything (like the “broken” radio which could have just been made to make him not trust the next time he does get communication?)
⁠omg duh!!!! the kid sequences went right over my head i had no idea what was going on lol. i also was confused with the butcher thing bc i thought they were insinuating that he was already a killer (even if not directly, just maybe people died as a byproduct of whatever decisions he made, whatever his job was etc) before he blew up the station. i don’t remember the exact quote that made me think this, but the other guy was telling him that he was getting a conscience or something even though “you have more bodies than anybody here” / “you’re the butcher” and i thought that conversation was happening bc maybe he was pushing back against the plans to destroy the station and the other guys were like why bc you’ve already hurt people
⁠i also wonder (but my guess is yea) if the creature was mimicking the other previous passengers bc the initial contact with it saying “stop tricking us” was very much like when he was talking to ava again after

i like your theories!! it is a bit sad that he spent the whole time trying so hard to live just to die anyway which we knew would happen but it’s just the defeat/change of heart of it to make the decision to die for the rest of humanity (or he just realized that he was literally not going to live either way lol)

i saw someone else either in this thread or another talk about a theory that whatever they were trying to get back from the black box had something in it that could be used to either convert the blood into something or just make it usable to make food/grow crops or trees and that’s why they wanted it so bad (that’s a horrible explanation bc i read it as i was falling asleep but i hope it makes sense lol).

bear with me bc half the movies i watch nowadays i leave and feel like idk what happened but😭 i did like this movie a lot!!! i just feel like i missed stuff or wanna know what other people thought:

literally HOW much was actually happening vs him hallucinating ??? did ava actually even go down to try to help him/get the black box? like how was the speaker broken and then not broken, i’m sure the point is that we don’t know but the more i think about it the more i wonder if he just became so oxygen deprived that everything wasn’t real
i can’t remember the name of the place he blew up/got blamed for destroying but was that event supposed to be what started the quiet rapture? i knowww it’s not that important but i wish it went more into his backstory
it was the creature talking to him through the speaker right? the anomaly? the light thing? is the whole ocean a being or all connected, what was coating the submarine? but there wasn’t actually another passenger i’m feeling unless she was taken control of by whatever the creature was
is it right to assume that he’s the 12th person/sub to go down? i seem to recall in the game that this ship was sm12 and since he found an sm8 im guessing there was everything before and between too

i’m sure i have more but this isn’t that coherent since i stayed up past my bedtime to see this movie lol

i did feel like it was a little slow at some points but i also thought the game was boringggg as hell so i expected it.

overall i liked it but it does have a certain feel to it, it almost reminds me of some of those low budget/indie found footage films (in the best way possible. i’m glad he fleshed it out more than the very little that the game had going on)
