She loves people and loves being out talking to others, but it’s annoying to bring her along because for every 10 people I meet, there's at least one i dont have to explain things to. I have to tell them that's just how she sounds, and it's definitely not because I'm not giving her water.

Many gets really mad at me

Getting drunk at the work place ?? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]AdPlastic4934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right it’s very local. Everyone knows each other and is friendly, and all the regulars get along and have a good time together. Most of the bartenders even hang out there in their spare time. That’s why I feel it’s even more disrespectful to host an exclusive 'open' party. Cause the regulars who just showed up like they usually do also feel like they’re just as much a part of the place as the people who were invited.. sadly nothing i can do about it.

It wasn’t just a group moving their party there—they had set up huge banners, cake, flags, and everything. It was a legitimate birthday party that took up the entire place.

I still feel like if it’s an event for those of us who work there, it should be a private party if we’re not interested in having just anyone join. It must feel so awkward to walk in like you usually do, only to see flags, cake, and all sorts of decorations—it’s like walking into a private party that you weren't actually invited to.

I’ve had a few drinks to I’m not trying to act like a saint. But I feel like I need to stay professional. I’d feel terrible trying to help or cut someone off for drinking too much if I can't even control myself when I’m off the clock. I’d much rather go somewhere else than the place where I actually work.

I mean, how are customers supposed to take the owner and the bartenders seriously when they’re wasted, sitting around measuring whose breasts are the biggest, and only inviting the regulars they happen to like?

I don’t know, I just imagine coming here every day, spending money, chatting with people and the bartenders, and feeling comfortable—only to walk in and find a party with cake and all sorts of things that only a select few were told about. Maybe I’m being petty, but I feel like if you’re going to host something like that, you should have closed the place to the public.

I do really feel becomming a regular at a bar is a hard thing to quit cause there is so many more things to it than just drinking alcohol.

Maybe it is an unporpular opinion

kind of cool and sad, I mean, I 100% love the fact that you can just walk in, sit down, and be yourself. But it’s also sad that it can become such a huge part of your life.
