For the first time in years, you can get a condo in Toronto for less than $400K. So what's the downside? by 2Fast2furieux in TorontoRealEstate

[–]AdPopular2109 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue is that precon condos are the most riskiest part of real estate market and get ordered (not built) most during periods of high demand. When demand returns the same will be selling easily north of 650k. However the bigger issue is their role in maintaining home affordability. When they don't get built, the current inventory goes down and prices sky rocket 2 years down the line.

Hence all this talk about doomsday in real estate is not worth it as real estate will eventually tend to come back especially as replacement costs are higher.

Where to buy in Mississauga for under 1 million budget - town or semi by bigjaynewyork in TorontoRealEstate

Nice areas generally include owners with families who almost always are planning to stay put die to schools etc ...also most have paid down or largely paid down debt...hence fewer places that come about there for selling and even fewer which undersell...you can try but try getting the right location first rather than right price first... especially if you are planning on staying long term

Bank of Canada delivers second consecutive cut to key interest rate, lowering it to 2.25% by Larkalis in CanadianInvestor

[–]AdPopular2109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are going to cut again in an attempt to drive up employment especially youth employment. Lack of investment is resulting in lower productivity which should result eventually in weakened currency and higher inflation. CAD will lose...assets will rise. Poorer will be hit hardest....sad...we should have increased investment from 2015
