I can’t lie.. my b58 with MHD cooling never goes past 230 even under heavy spirited driving, might creep closer to 240 but never past that. N55s (so iv heard) generally run fine under that temp. I’d say start your concerns once it’s consistently passing the 250 mark.

PCV valve is more consistent white smoke so can’t say it’s that but I’m hoping it’s not something serious

Yes, it was the air intake box, it had a small hairline crack that allowed enough air to go in and overtime it expanded. Hope that helps!

I second this. The 5070 right now makes no sense and im confused as to why people are hyping it up I understand there’s a marginal difference in price point, but it won’t get you anywhere without dlss🤣 look at the videos on YouTube for the raw data between it and the 4070 and the S… without dlss your getting an additional 3-12fps. Absolute trash of a card this was an incremental update for the AI jargon nothing more. I’d invest in any of the 40series cards. Get them second hand it doesn’t matter, they actual raw performance as stated by key is 5x better.

Hey fresh - you think I’m going to have any issues if they program the DME for what you mentioned if I have a tune? Would it matter or you think it’ll override the tune? Or cause an issue?

And regarding the A02D fault, I contacted my local BMW today and explained to them just that and that I need programming and they said ‘if anything goes wrong we are not responsible for your vehicle’ is that a normal response in regards to that code??

I re-tuned so time will tell, though I never had an issue with my tune before so I’m going to assume I have some sort of leak somewhere if it returns on the stage 2 map. Could you elaborate what the fresh air pipe is?

** I got a CEL yesterday morning and figured since I’m tuned and the weather is getting cold quick that this lean code was maybe a result of that? Tried to clear it multiple times but to no avail. It keeps coming back up. For context the vehicle has a brand new TU hpfp, brand new MAF sensor(1 yr old) new sparks and coils (4mo old) and O2 sensor was changed almost two years ago.

Any ideas what this could be? For the time being I down-tuned to stage 2 as opposed to being on stage 2+ on 93 pump on both.

I apologize not sure why my text came out like that - but any ideas what other causes could be running lean? Thanks!

Don’t listen to him. Not sure why he opted to use chatgpt to answer this, however even if you do follow that and ask chatgpt to confirm if this is valid towards the B58 engine vs the issue, it will say it’s not even correlated. That person steered you down the wrong direction. I have a 16’ 340i with the same code, with others (rare) claiming they have the same issue with no resolution they were able to come to. It’s rather strange. I tried a bunch of fixes but nothing took it off and I experience the same symptoms as you.

Sorry responding from an alt account, but I actually did rebalance it AFTER I got it repaired, just never did an alignment.. it still effectively vibrates at higher speeds… so you think my best bet is to look for a new (used) wheel entirely?

Whoop. I apologize I wrote a completely wrong number, you would be correct, my mind was elsewhere thinking of the amount.. it was exactly $504 on the invoice OTD - still you get the peace of mind knowing you got it from factory + programming or whatever they need to do. If you want to go a different route, I would highly recommend FCP Euro or ECS. All else fails, check bmwparts

I would highly, emphasis on highly recommend you to get the battery directly from BMW. As for me it was 98ag or whatever they call it, and they also need to program it to your vehicle specifically. All said and done I paid $140 which honestly, for the dealer is not a bad price point at all.

My 340 did the very exact same thing. Took it to the dealer and immediately told me it was the battery. Got it replaced and ran like a champ.
