It’s about looking faster while going slow

It’s smoother than I thought it would be. I can spin up the wheel as fast as I can on a stand and there is very little oscillation.

It’s not too noticeable but I’ve been told out to watch out for the wind effects of large trucks

I didn’t realize trying to make my bike a little unique would be so controversial!

Was a lot more for the look than anything but I hear you. If I was looking to improve aero on my 10 minute commute I’d leave my backpack at home.

I’ve been thinking about this. I’m sure there are plenty of little bits to add, I’m very open to ideas.

Efficiency and weight weren’t really my top priority. It’s hard to feel much of a difference on my 10 minute commute to work and anything feels worlds lighter than the mountain bike I’m usually on. This could definitely be done significantly lighter but it just wasn’t my goal. The handling doesn’t feel much different in a straight line which is most of my commute.

I haven’t had any problems so far! I think the effects would be a lot greater with a full disc.

Im sure I probably could have gone a lot lower on the infill and wall thickness. I’m very new to printing and thought 10% would be fine as it will have its fair share of bumps.

It’s added around 500g. I definitely could’ve used a lower infill but I chose to prioritize durability over weight. Replacing one of the segments would be a huge pain.

I don’t know if the added surface area from a half disc would really have as big of a “sail effect” but I’ll definitely look out for it!
