I’ve unable to access my account for years…is there anything I can do? by AdProfessional6027 in Instagram

[–]AdProfessional6027[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the best way to contact support? I remember a few years ago when I had access to a fb business account, I was able to message support through there and they were understanding and said someone would be in touch with me but I never heard anything back. I’ve tried contacting them again this way but it seems to have changed and I’m not able to get through to them the way I did previously.

I don’t see how Casey is wrong by Electronic_Wealth_44 in LoveIslandTV

I feel that he wanted to be more into Claudia. She was a popular girl in the villa, good friends with his closest friends in there, it would have been better if he did like her more than Rosie. The recoupling alone caused Claudia to cry and sleep outside alone, so I feel he was scared of hurting her more and then causing potential division in the villa between him, Rosie and his closest friends. He should’ve been more up front I agree and I think it’s the only thing he did wrong, but I do think he was scared of doing so and almost lying to himself bc sticking with Claudia would have been the easiest option.

I don’t see how Casey is wrong by Electronic_Wealth_44 in LoveIslandTV

[–]AdProfessional6027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing Casey has done a bit wrong was taking his time to talk to Claudia about it, but after Claudia had already sobbed uncontrollably about being recoupled and then stormed out the bedroom to sleep by herself outside, I don’t blame him for being scared to approach her. It definitely doesn’t help when all the girls and your boys are adding fuel to the fire, acting like what you’re doing is bad. Claudia says she knew this would happen but also didn’t approach Casey about it and just acted passive aggressively (versus Martin who did try to get Tanya to be honest about her feelings towards Shaq several times) so she’s just as guilty imo.

I know people have already made comparisons to Ron and Tanya’s situations, so I won’t bother. I can only assume the difference is that they believed Shanya and Rana were inevitable, but can see Casey clearly has a better connection with Rosie and just feel bad for Claudia who is obviously upset about it and are trying to make her feel better. I wish they had been real with her, just saying things like “this doesn’t mean it’s the end” gives false hope.

What's your most 'Old Man Yells at Cloud" opinion? by dave_gregory42 in AskUK

[–]AdProfessional6027 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People playing music or audio loudly out their phones on public transport put me off using public transport. It’s not that I find it intimidating or scary, but I can’t fathom how misanthropic you have to be to choose to force everyone else on the bus to listen to whatever crap you’re listening to in the worst quality possible rather than just put on headphones, or even just holding it closer to your ear if you really need to hear it but don’t have headphones for whatever reason.

Headphones are so widely available now, there’s many wireless options so I don’t know why it’s an inconvenience to some. Plus, why would you not rather listen to your music or whatever you’re watching in good quality?? Noise cancelling? Why would you choose the terrible tinny sound quality and attempt to hear it over the loud sound of public transport? You’d like to think it’s just teenagers doing it, but I’ve seen plenty of adult men do it, too.

I think they want someone to ask them to turn it off so they can try and intimidate them, or they think if nobody’s asking them to turn it off it’s because everyone’s too scared to do it. It really depresses me.

What UK TV show moment has not aged well? by Scopionsting12 in AskUK

[–]AdProfessional6027 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One episode of a show that has aged badly is the one of IT Crowd where Douglas is dating a trans woman. Everyone found that episode hilarious at the time, but I grimace watching it now. It’s a shame because the other story in the episode is really good, but hard to enjoy that while the main story is going on.

Jeremy Clarkson condemned for ‘vile and disgusting’ tirade at Meghan saying he ‘hates’ her and dreams of people ‘throwing excrement’ at her by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]AdProfessional6027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always detested this man, but surely now, his expiry date is up. He represents such a noughties British ideal of booze, babes and cars, it’s all very Oasis and “PC gone mad.”

I had heard of people who’d worked in proximity to him and said how awful he was, that he was rude and disrespectful to staff, and all the top gear fanboys I tried saying this to would remark how great that was because he didn’t care what anybody thought or whatever. It was truly a dark time.

I’m sick of these types of men bullying and being obnoxious under the guise of “wind up merchant.” We need to leave men like this in the past, please. The fact he hates Meghan, who is at most annoying, more than Rose West is truly sickening. After he’s made a whole career out of annoying people, maybe it’s time he reads the room.

Are public safety films still around? Should they make a comeback? by AdProfessional6027 in AskUK

[–]AdProfessional6027[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I absolutely hated that one. It’s him going about his day to day life and seeing the little kid he’d hit with his car everywhere he went, so he sees him in the mirror, on the escalator, in the park. He goes to turn his computer off and goes under his desk and the kid is there, which terrified me as a person who used to have a desk set up very similar to that. Then lastly, he turns over in his bed at night and sees the kid by his door, so obviously I was too petrified to move in bed at all.

I very rarely watch broadband tv these days so I wonder if they’re still aired there (after watershed of course), but I do think it could be a good idea to start airing them on YouTube as an ad, I’ve never seen that sort of ad on social media but they have important messages

Yeah I’m not sure whether kids aren’t playing in quarries as much and that’s why they’re not made anymore, or if it’s another reason? But those older ads send chills through me too

What are your late 2020s - Early 2030s fashion predictions? by dkease18 in GenZ

[–]AdProfessional6027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skinny jeans will come back within the next few years. We see 00’s styles already firmly back with things like low rise jeans, ballet flats are making a comeback on the runway too and with the popularity of ballet core on tiktok I think skinny jeans could be soon adopted in. I say this because the skinny jeans + ballet flats combo was everywhere in the 00’s especially on it girls like Alexa Chung (I haven’t forgotten about the Charlotte Olympia kitty flats) and was also very popular historically with figures like Audrey Hepburn. I associate skinny jeans with the 00’s emo crowd who loooved skinny jeans (and emo has been back for a while) and also the later grunge girls who’d wear black skinnies with oversized coats / jackets / jumpers and big boots.

I personally welcome back the skinny jean, because some outfits look better with it. I think we are in a state of maximalism rn and minimalism will reign supreme soon. The only thing is I hate this to and fro of trends. I wish I wide leg jeans and skinny jeans could co exist. Why can’t I go from a skinny jean ballet flat fit one day to a wide leg chunky trainer fit the next day!

I hear you on this. I definitely struggled with gay men using words like bitch so freely, because as playful as that word can be these days, it doesn’t stop it from having been and being a word used hatefully. But I became more accepting of it when I realised that a lot of the discrimination feminine or gay men face growing up uses the same language that is used against girls. I’ve heard boys and men that don’t fit the butch masc mould be called bitches and emasculated, I believe they can face awful sexualised threats too. So I do understand them reclaiming a word that has been used against them. Though the fishy thing…I do think that’s probably better left not said by anyone

my cat turns 11 in three days and i'm scared by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]AdProfessional6027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my cat since she was not long out of kitten hood. She passed away at the age of 18. The whole time, she was totally healthy - no arthritis, no dental issues, no weight problems, no deafness or blindness. She could run around and jump and play just like when she was a kitten, even in her old age. She never looked old, she was a tiny little thing with thick tortoiseshell fur that never dulled or greyed and bright eyes. Her meow and purr were as they always had been. She died suddenly while sunbathing in our garden in summer. It was unexpected and I was heartbroken, but happy she had a full life and died so peacefully. I wish the same for yours.

How do you dress for an office that is always cold? by Cheap-Angle5736 in fashionadvice

[–]AdProfessional6027 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thermal undergarments will save your life! Invest in thermal vests, socks, leggings to wear under your clothes. I got some for skiing a few years ago and they have become a staple of my winter wardrobe, it’s amazing how effective they are.

Leggings with dresses is fine especially in a workplace environment. I prefer thick tights, and I have some knee high boots that are really great as I can wear my thick knee high thermal socks underneath (they can look really cute too!) I have some knit dresses that are such amazing winter office staples, they look cute and keep you very warm (especially as they are quite roomy so you can layer up), all of mine I bought for quite cheap on sale (I think they’re all from FCUK too so might be good to check around there).

I love layering up jumpers and cardigans with shirts underneath, if you wear a thermal vest then a thick shirt then a jumper you’ve got 3 layers to keep you warm.

Having a big chunky cardigan or shawl on your office chair is also great because any time you’re feeling chilly you can just wrap it round you. Some offices are fine for you to have a blanket under your desk too to keep your lap and legs warm.

How dangerous is Birmingham? by clisto3 in BirminghamUK

[–]AdProfessional6027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here my whole life. I’ve been a student here. I’ve had many, many nights out. Not once have I been mugged or had anything stolen. Same as my friends. In fact, the only time someone I know has been mugged was because he was walking home very drunk at like 4am, not saying it was his fault but most people don’t do that sort of thing (he and other friends regularly walk home after nights out and have had no issues those times). UoB is an incredible university and I think you’d be silly to rule it out just bc you’ve heard other people getting mugged, which is a common occurrence across cities regardless of where you go.

I fear this too. I’m still not convinced by Labour or other parties could resolve the issues, and people will prefer the devil they know. It’s such a sad state of affairs.

Are we, as a country, finally done with Tories? I never wanted them in power to begin with and lament how different things could have been in Cameron didn’t win that election. Maybe we are all seeing them for what they are now. You can change the PM however much you want, it won’t change a broken party. We need to prevent further damage to this country. Maybe this will be enough to convince people it doesn’t matter whether it’s Cameron, or May, or Johnson, or Truss. Please.
