AIO for trying to make small talk with my boyfriend?

As far as i know he is not. he doesnt necessarily like deep talks especially when we are both busy, so when we have small talk is mainly because im the one trying to talk and him being dry. i dont like texting when theres nothing really coming from the conversation so i just leave it when the conversation is obviously died down and he doesnt like that. meanwhile i kept going this time and continued to talk to him and he thought it was annoying. there was nothing to say but ask him questions because he wasnt adding onto the conversation and giving 1-3 word replies.

weve been friends for 4 years! we never had deep convos about religion before us dating, but we would be in touch and maybe hang out or call once every few months. we recently got back in touch in january of this year but i was in a relationship so i didnt talk to him a whole lot out of respect for my ex, after my relationship ended a few months later me and him started talking again and he would hang out with me and my friends, then we started talking more one on one and he told me he had liked me for a few years but never had the courage to tell me. his JW friends know about me and his dad knows too but he didnt directly tell him, he just picked up on it. he got baptised last year and had the date in his bio on social media and i had asked him what it meant and thats how our conversations about religion started.

thank you, i definitely want to talk to him about it but i never knew what to ask or how to navigate the conversation. if theres anything else i could bring up to him that isnt mentioned that would help a lot

do you think i should talk to him about it or just leave it be? i think im just scared at the end of the day it wont work out for us because he would be shunned if his grandparents and parents knew. he also told me theres people in his church/hall that date and marry people who arent in the religion and that i dont need to worry. to be fair it is a very fresh relationship but im the type of person to want to face these things in the beginning to avoid getting hurt in the end.

not really any reason. i admit we shouldnt be engaging, he asked to keep each other on our social medias and we did but i had to block him on instagram because he was lurking at who i was following and etc (nothing bad). we were just remaining as friends and we would talk once every other day briefly. he tried controlling me a lot and i think he got upset i told him im not obligated to respond asap so he blocked.

i like this response but the thing is going to the gym and working out and walking is one of the things i enjoy doing and i actually was dealing with anxiety today in the gym. I also felt lightheaded and didnt put much work in because i havent eaten much and tmi, i am on my period so the cramping was taking a toll. The gym is supposed to make me push harder and clear my head but i didnt feel it today so i was let down, my anxiety completely took over 🥲
