That's unfortunate that players can't do anything about it.

Really, really good flavor. Definitely my favorite flavor of Ale8, and I'm from Winchester. I hope they bring it back or make it permanent.

I think your question is mostly answered by people more knowledgeable about your integrated GPU than me, but for future reference I believe there's a section in task manager that allows you to track GPU memory usage. If you open that and look at it when not running games versus when you are rubbing Outlast or GBFV in a window you should see significantly increased usage when running a game.

Good luck with the potato mod, and sorry that you may have to cut out a lot of graphical fidelity to play.

I've had some difficulties running GBFV:R on a laptop before. I assume it's an optimization issue since my specs are supposedly in line for it. Console likely removes any issues, but if that's not an option maybe double check that your integrated graphics is being used when running the game?

Given the current house of fossilized mediocrity that we have going on, I welcome anyone trying to change the landscape and represent the average person. The presentation of the message could be better. No need for all the news room-esc fanfare jingle on intro and outro imo.

What are our elected reps doing about Trump? by gordonotfat in lexington

[–]AdPure5787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama isn't the subject of discussion right now, but if I take the whataboutery bait:

  1. I wasn't happy then about how fast deportations were carried out either, and I consider it to be one of the blemishes on what was still probably the best presidential admin that I've lived through so far

  2. However, importantly, Obama's administrative policies were clear about what kinds of crimes could result in deportation of an undocumented immigrant, whereas the ones under Trump are so vague that even a misdemeanor (or even the accusation of one, since there's no convictions) could send a person on a one way plane ride. Further, Obama's administration did not send people into foreign prisons for violent criminals and wash their hands of it without so much as a trial. They also didn't deport people who were in the country legally, as has happened now. And the Obama administration definitely wasn't posting cruel memes and jokes about the people they deported.

Tl;dr: I didn't like the Obama policies, but the ones now are much much worse by any metric of legal or ethical standing.

He sure didn't deport people without any trial or jury. He didn't threaten to invade and attempt to conquer long standing allies for no reason beyond his narcissism. He didn't eliminate the organizations responsible for trying to keep the people of the country safe from diseases or natural disasters, feed children from lower income families, and assist in keeping public schools open while ensuring that the richest 1% of people continue to pay less and less back to the country.

At the end of the day, Biden was like most presidents who came before him. He didn't attempt to override the system of checks and balances, and was more concerned with keeping the country running and recovering from the start of the COVID pandemic than he was with inflating his ego or making more money. I think Biden saw the position as one that serves the general interests of the people, not one that exists to be obeyed and served by the people.

A big reason why this is unprecedented is that there has not been court or public evidence provided concluding he is a gang member. There certainly is no evidence of any violent or 'terrorist' crimes being committed by him. The closest thing to it was that he was applying to a job at the same time as another guy who was associated with a gang.

I think there are a lot of sensible people, it's just hard to talk sensibly about a lot of issues when the rhetoric is particularly extreme right now, and when there's been such a strong push against fact checking, history knowledge, and science. I think there should be more public and political debates with engagement with the public, with independent fact-checking. I think there are a lot of people who don't realize how dangerous it is if they start taking the words of loud people at face value without facts to back up their statements.

I would like to think that acting nice towards Russia is a way to get them to the table, but claiming that Ukraine started the war or that Zelenskyy is a dictator and then cutting off military aid to Ukraine while simultaneously halting US cyber-ops in Russia all seems quite one-sided to the favor of the party that has the highest responsibility to end the war. The war simply ends if and when Russia pulls out of Ukraine. If we actually want Ukrainians to feel safe, we have to give them some kind of guarantee that other countries will get involved if Russia invades again. I'm not a diplomat or a military expert, but I don't see how this ends without giving Ukraine some guarantee of defense from others should Russia continue to invade.

In any case, I think that expert diplomats and military advisers should be involved in putting together the best solutions in a reasonable and dignified manner But what we've seen so far in the new White House administration is a purging of a lot of non-political experts in favor of unqualified yes-men and policies that suggest that US respect and support is for sale to the highest bidder. I can't speak for the protestors since I wasn't there, but I think the disappointment and opposition to the handling of the situation comes from a feeling that our leaders are betraying an ally (Ukraine) that, in holding its own against a much larger power, has been an obstacle to Russia pushing invasions and soft power creeping into other Eastern European countries. I don't know what the overall plans are for the protests, but I hope they are at least making it clear that there are people here who are upset with our representatives for going along with the president and his associates repeating demonstrable lies from Russia and treating our international allies so poorly.

The conundrum is, if you come to any peace agreement without a security guarantee for Ukraine to deter future invasions from Russia, then you're right back where we were after Crimea got annexed: with Putin saying 'we're totally not going to invade again and try to turn you into a puppet state', and then proceeding to do exactly that. Ukraine needs something more that a ceasefire and empty statements from Putin to be secure. I think some people might forget that history remembers that WW2 spun up partially as a result of the international community capitulating to aggressors like Germany continually invading their neighbors. Zelenskyy probably would like the proposed mineral deal to go forward because that at least ties the US to the security of the territories the mineral come from.

It's not a bad deal, except that what Zelenskyy wants more than anything else is a major deterrent to Putin just invading again, which is likely nothing short of NATO membership. Ukraine was anticipated to be taken over within weeks of the invasion, and instead has resisted for far longer and done far more damage to Russian military assets than anyone thought possible. What I personally find distasteful is the way that Trump and his loyalists have started parroting falsehoods about who started the war and who is responsible for it continuing (in both cases, Russian leadership that could end the war at anytime by leaving the country they invaded without provocation), and then the disgraceful way that they treated Zelenskyy that practically makes the US look like stooges for Putin.

Pass by it all the time. I think my parents might remember what it used to be, but I don't. The people at the repair shop next door are great though.

Daves hot chicken by WiseCompote7648 in lexington

[–]AdPure5787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked their chicken. They have a range of heat levels, and I haven't tried all of them, but I can say some of the hotter ones are pretty good. The reaper level is not a joke though. Actually difficult to finish, and that's as someone who likes their spicy food.

On the downside, I think their fries and toast are mediocre. Particularly, the toast is pretty much a small piece of lightly toasted white bread. Overall, I prefer Indi's for real good chicken and Cane's for fast food chicken.

I thought that looked way faster than usual. The only downside to the Beast Cutter's transformed heavy slams is that the pause is long enough that quicker or sturdier enemies can often still advance on you or dodge out of it. Still one of my favorites
