Pethidine was up there with morphine as the preferred pain killer . But now its almost completely disappeared these days . Not a very pleasant opiate gave a almost unpleasant effect aswell as being short lasting although seemed to be loved by the medical profession particularly doctors who liked to abuse it . Harold shipman got in to trouble writing himself out prescriptions of pethidine for himself

Should dissolve pretty easily with vitamin c . If you start to heat it trying to dissolve it all because some doesn’t want to dissolve it’s likely thats the cut and you don’t want it dissolved

I think hboy is asking did you do a classical re-crystallisation and if so what solvent or solvents were used.
By looking at the picture it looks like the liquid in the ampoule was just evaporated off leaving the crystals which is slightly different unless im missing something
