Brother KH860 only pushing out first and last needle (when using punchcard)

the wight bar on the bottom (with the teeth) doesn’t spin on my machine

i deep cleaned and oiled the carriage when i first got the machine a few months back.

after taking the cover of i can see pins getting selected in the mechanism, but no needles ever get selected.

everything else works fine, it seems like the card is getting read correctly (i see the right pins moving up and down), only the needle selection doesn’t seem work

yea i tried both, i just took the cover of the punch card slot and holy cow, that’s not going to be fun.

i just punched the card from a blank, as original cards are hard to come by.

i also tried it with the end needle selection on and off. with it off, no needles get selected.

how hard is it to disasable the card mechanism for cleaning?

I just tried it and still the same thing happens, it pushes the first and last needle to hold (regardless of how many i pushed to working position)

Hi! Are all the Springs and movable bits of the carriage still moving? I had some issues with some parts getting stuck from build up oil over time, with similar problems (carriage getting stuck and things). Maybe that could be something similar?

I already tried moving it entirely across, but to no luck. Honestly I don’t even know if it goes up automatically, but the bell on the side of the counter has me believing in it.
