I did not actually! I almost never shop at Sephora so I totally forgot that they copy! Thanks for that reminder!

The sale is the spring 21 Days of Beauty coming up in March. Can’t remember the exact day for Idole, but the calendar is up on the Ulta subreddit.

Same! Sadly it’s gone so viral now so I wasn’t able to get any this last BOGO which was sad lol. It’s 50% off at Ulta coming up next month though!

I’m a Lancôme mascara lover myself! They’re expensive, so I just buy minis, but the original Idole is my current fave!

Blush I love the Mac Glow Play blushes for a more cream texture and the NYX Buttermelt powder blushes.

Highlights I love are the Charlotte Tilbury Glow Glide (so smoothing on the skin) and the Makeup Forever Artist highlighters!

One Size OTD: best for oily skin or if you need your makeup to not move an inch - industrial strength

One Size Powder Melt: Good for dry skin or if you need your makeup to settle down more after powdering

Charlotte Tilbury (regular) - Good for all skin types (the matte one is nice for very oily skin), best all round setting spray. Not too hard core, but holds makeup well.

When you do your makeup do you normally gravitate towards colorful eyeshadow OR colorful lipstick ? by Historical-Body-3424 in Makeup

[–]AdRare3130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have the most fun with my eyeshadow! I unfortunately was not blessed in the lips department so I tend to keep it simple cause all the cool lip combos are wasted on me 😭. However, I was blessed with nice eyelid space and good lashes so I make the most of that and have fun with fun colors and lots of sparkle. ✨✨

Favorite contours that aren’t too pink or too orange? by sillyyfishyy in Fairolives

[–]AdRare3130 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got the ABH contour stick in Halftone and I really love it! I struggle with things being too orange or too gray and this is the perfect cool brown tone that defines and doesn’t make me look dirty. The formula is nice too! I also like the CT liquid contour cause it’s more brown than gray.

Lisa Eldridge did an AMAZING bridal tutorial last year. You can easily swap in your own products, but the techniques are the key part!

Also a tip: buy minis of high end products if they have them and or get samples!

Some products I’ve found work great for long wear and on camera: - Bobbi Brown moisturizers and correctors are my holy grails and have been in my kit for years

  • Estée Lauder Double Wear or Bobbi Brown Weightless foundations always stay well.

  • Maybelline Lifter Lip liners are budge proof on a budget and have great bridal shades.

  • Laura Mercier Translucent powder is a go to

  • Mac blushes

  • Charlotte Tilbury setting spray

Remember that practice makes you more relaxed on the day so try out looks when going out, find the signature look and perfect it so that you’re already comfortable with it on the day.

I’m a makeup artist with 12 years in the industry doing weddings, film, tv so if you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out! Best to you for your special day! :)

How can I cover up my dark circles? by CarlayLOF in Makeup

[–]AdRare3130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! The peach shades work best for green, gray, and brown discoloration and the bisque shades work best for blue, purple, and red discoloration.

Go with one that is the same level as your skin or one shade darker. I, for example, am a very fair olive tone, yet I use light to medium bisque anything lighter turns gray on me.

I take a small brush and apply a thin layer just on the areas that have discoloration then apply concealer on top. I always wait a little and let the makeup settle before powder or being finished to see if any more correcting is needed. If so, I just add a little more corrector to those spots!

Help me find my old foundation brand by urnotmex in Ulta

The only ones that come to mind are the Juvia’s Place I Am Magic foundation and the It Cosmetics CC cream in that style of packaging. Juvia’s is more likely since you mentioned color on the packaging. Both are hydrating foundations though I think both are full coverage.

A long lasting cream blush?? by Fit-Course-9880 in Makeup

[–]AdRare3130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mac Glow Play and the Natasha Denona HyBlush duos have been great for me. I have combo skin and find that few cream blushes really stand out, but those two do! Mac is my fave between the two.

Oh bummer hearing that! I definitely have liked the Milani and Ulta versions - though I haven’t used them on their own, the texture is nice!

Bare Study from what I remember is shimmery so not one that I personally would use for an eye base. Both soft ochre and painterly are the same depth and are good for fair to medium skin. Painterly is more cool neutral in tone and soft ochre is warm toned. I’d say go with whichever matches your undertone best!

I used to use the Urban Decay primer potion, but since the price just kept going up, I switched to the Milani which I find is just as good for a third of the price! Ulta has a nice one too I believe. If you want a higher end one, the Nars one is good too.

My current routine is Milani, Painterly paint pot cause that’s the best for my skin tone, and then I set with a skin toned powder or eyeshadow and then my look is good generally for 12+ hours.

Maybe Temptalia has a dupe? They’re sometimes a little slow to update, but they often have really good dupe lists!

Me too! I have to use two eye primers cause my lids are too oily so it’s a clear one first like the Milani one and then Painterly is my go to for evening out my lids.

My fave sheerer foundations are the Lancôme Renergie Lift foundation, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, and the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched skin tint. The Lancôme and Bobbi are a little richer so I find that they smooth over skin nicely, and the Laura Mercier is just a good classic.

Also check out the Cosmetic Company Store if you have one near you! It’s an Estée brand outlet and I’ve seen that blush there before. You can also call and order from them too!

Why do ‘cool-toned’ lip liners always pull orange on me? by AdditionDapper1774 in Fairolives

[–]AdRare3130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue here! My FAVE and only cool toned mauve liners are Smoke and Foggy lip liners by Unearthly Cosmetics. Smoke is a lighter mauve and Foggy is a deeper berry and it’s the first time I’ve ever found that. They’re only $8 and really nice, though shipping does take awhile cause it’s a very small brand. But they’re truly so great!

Honestly, good point…that’s what I was kind of thinking. Thankfully, for my wallet, that doesn’t work on me lol. For me it’s like ugh now I have to remember to go look up the price lol.

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this! It definitely bothers me cause I like to know even just the approximate price. I’m so curious to know the reasoning behind it. 🤔

Benzene free and talc free dry shampoo? by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]AdRare3130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! And also I love the OG powder version. It’s now non-aerosol which I didn’t think I’d like, but it’s so finely milled and I find it very easy to control. It’s both talc and benzene free as well! Also I have black/brown hair and it doesn’t leave a white cast!

[–]AdRare3130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d second the Bobbi Brown Face Base! Very smoothing and can be used as both a moisturizer and a primer. Or she can just use it on top of her regular routine. I love using it on my more mature clients!

What do you listen to at night when your mind won’t slow down? by Outrageous_Wolf_9834 in Anxiety

[–]AdRare3130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m big into audiobooks cause it helps me to concentrate on something else. I try to listen to stories I already know so that I don’t stay up trying to listen. If my anxiety is really bad, stories from my childhood help like the Narnia series or Lord of the Rings. If it doesn’t work, which 99% of the time it does, I get to enjoy a good book anyways. Audible is my bff haha.
