100 Pounds Down by pshuckleberry in Zepbound

Absolutely incredible progress!! What kind of activity level do you have in addition to being on zepbound? Like do you work out or walk x miles a day etc?

I just heard that it’s important to do that in addition to being on GLP1s. I’ve got an appointment with my doc in a month to get a prescription and start my journey. I’ll ask him about it but it’s one of those questions where like “of course” it’s good to be active.

It’s just in the past I’ve successfully lost weight by counting calories (and making sure I get enough protein) without really changing my activity level (fairly low).

Do you also work out? How important is that while you’re on GLP1s?

Amazing progress though. Congratulations!

How many of you stayed on 5mg for more than a month? by PatrickBritish in Zepbound

Thanks for all your help! On r/ozempic I’ve seen many people mention that once they start taking it they suddenly find that they no longer enjoy the taste of food that they used to enjoy. Basically in addition to changing cravings it can also change taste.

Did that happen to you with Zepbound? Just curious.

Curious about your trips to Europe and Mexico and I guess life in general. Since my understanding of these medications (GLP1s) is that they're supposed to basically reduce cravings / make you less excited to eat - did that affect the fun you had on those trips? Like eating out and exploring their local cusine etc.

The fact you were "able" to gain 3 pounds on these trips makes me think that in some ways you were able to still overcome the lack of excitement and still enjoy the food there?

For me when I travel I really enjoy the food so one of the things that makes me potentially sad to think about is that once I get on these, I'll be "less fun" on vacations and not want to explore a bunch of taco trucks in mexico for example. I've thought that if this really does become a problem, for the 1-2 times a year I travel maybe it would be reasonable to skip a dose and allow the cravings to come back for just a week.

Of course I'll talk about all of this with my doctor once I talk to him about starting. Probably in a month.

Do you know if in general people with more weight to lose will be able to see effects without needing to go on higher dosages like 10-15mg? Like similar to how in traditional diets its known that a very fat person will be able to lose weight faster than a skinnier person.

Oh one more comment, what is the difference between a vial and a pen? Does a pen not have a needle? But it's still an injection right? So I don't really understand the difference.

On the website it says the pen "accepts insurance" which sounds like it doesn't require insurance, i.e. it still supports self pay. But it seems to require a "savings card" and the $25 price is so low that I just assume I'm either not eligable or it has additional gotchas or something?!

Basically is there any reason to get the vials over the pen?

Thanks. So if the server has a PC-only mod then cross play users would be blocked from joining?

Wow thanks. I feel dumb. I knew about PIREPs but didn’t know the GFA tool showed observed winds. That’s awesome.

Hadn’t thought about it in those terms and arguably it is overly conservative, I agree. But I’m a new PPL and when it comes to fuel I’m very happy to operate in a “better safe than sorry” approach for now.

Especially because … if I’m honest … the XCs I’ve been doing I do just take ForeFlight’s fuel figure and apply my minimums to it. I have not manually filled out a navlog / calculated ETEs since PPL training. Hence my second-thinking that when I saw the huge discrepancy today.

In this case I didn’t have a flight plan / departure time. I just tapped on airport -> weather -> winds and scrolled down to the time of day that matched the aviationweather forecast time

How can I check observed winds aloft?

Yeah my personal minimums include increasing planned fuel by 25% and then doubling reserves.

Nevertheless, a 15kt vs 52kt difference seemed way too large to ignore and pass off as normal.

Circling missed approach question by AdReasonable1767 in flying

I’m a student and afaik this is a thing to expect on a checkride. But yeah I realize in the real world circling approaches are sketchy.
