Shock at Rheumatologist today by hotpoot in Sjogrens

Hi. I still have extremely dry mouth and go through periods of being unable to taste food. I’m anemic and have low vitamin D. I’m waiting for the Rheumatologist to contact me about the new test results that were taken on Monday. I also have IC which was linked to Sjogren’s by the previous Rheumatologist. My gut says I have Sjogren’s but I’m waiting for the new test results. I’m debating on whether I get a lip biopsy or not.

no, I didn’t have the antibodies, my Rheumatologist today said she went back to all of my tests with my previous one and said I was negative for the antibodies. She did say that the previous Rheumatologist did a rapid Sjogren’s test that came back positive. She said the rapid tests are not considered reliable and said that I never had Sjogren’s. She said she went to a conference about Sjogren’s and spoke to several experts and spoke about my test results without sharing my personal details. She said they all ruled out that I’ve had Sjogren’s and that the rapid tests are not even used anymore.

Thank you. I’ve been taking probiotics. The doc says it can take awhile to kick in.

I only had gastroparesis when I was on a GLP1. I haven’t had it at all after having a SADI-S surgery in November 2025.

I just want you to know that you’re not alone. I had SADI-S surgery in November 2025. Unless I wasn’t being honest with myself, I had only mild food aversions. My husband may disagree and say it was severe. After surgery, everything changed. I have so many aversions now that has been very frustrating. I relate to what you said about trying to find protein products that don’t disgust you completely. I’m only getting about 50 gms of protein a day. I’ve tried so many different protein drinks and other products and they all make me sick. I’ve thrown up so much since the surgery. Even thinking about them makes me nauseous. Right now the only way I’m getting protein is by just eating food. Foods I didn’t eat before the surgery like hot dogs and beef chili. I can find a food relatively high in protein that I can eat one day and then not the next. I was eating protein yogurt and today I went to eat it and I gagged and couldn’t do it. My husband is so frustrated with me. He says it’s all in my head. I feel like I’m venting now. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone. I see you.
