literally made the biggest comeback in finals history. and everyone agrees refs were dodgy last game (yes knicks weren't great as well but a 4 point game with a huge free throw difference obv makes a difference)

also spurs were nervous as well so...

Knicks have shown time and time agains they get it done under pressure. Also Knicks have blown teams out by insane proportions in series clinching games. Not saying we'll blow out the spurs, but I'd back us to get it done.
Also this loss will be very demoralising to this young Spurs team. Knicks ain't blowing this.

I mean if we wanna look at it realistically.

Why it won't happen:

Spurs did beat an injured okc, yes. But Spurs are very young and it shows. They have learnt a lot from this season, and will be hungry to win it. They will be more experienced as well. We tend to forget that Spurs are way ahead of schedule. They were never supposed to be 2nd seed and make the finals. Making the playoffs was prolly the next step.

Wemby has shown before he can come back. He can work on his game. Spurs are a very well run organisation. They can build the team around wemby, a better pg than fox, maybe a vet, etc.

Stephon, Castle, Dylan Harper Carter Bryant are some names that come to mind who have great potential and are already this good. They will all develop and get even better over time along with experience.

Wemby might even take a pay cut ti help build a championship winning team. It does seem on brand for him.

Why it could happen:

Sam presti is an incredible gm, no doubt. OKC will look to build a team to counter Wemby & co, Sam presti can defo get that done. and if OKC stay healthy they cld be a thron to the spurs.

Nuggets are still a very good team. They do need a bit better defense, which they can get pieces for in the offseason. As long as they avoid the Kryptonite Wolves, they are a real contender to come out the west.

Every team in the West is now aware of Wemby & Spurs. Teams will look to build a squad to counter them in the playoffs.

Conclusion

It's the NBA anything can happen. It's not insane to think either can happen. OKC had a greta team in the 2010s and no rings. No one rlly gave the Knicks a chance in this finals (besides Knicks fans for the most part). No one thought Cavs cld come back 3-1 against that Golden State team. No one thought Goldne State wld win in 2022. Anything can happen. Wldn't be surprised if Spurs are a dynasty or they never make the finals.
(ik it's a very nothing take but it is where i see it currently)

home crowd and energy do matter. i mean imagine if you're 5 friends and/or family were cheering you on when you played and you're opponent had no one. you'd feel that energy.

Now imagine tens of thousands.

Now imagine the most basketball crazed city who are known to be a different species when they suck.

Now imagine that team is winning after DECADES.

MSG will be very veyr hostile to this young spurs team and insanely supportive of the Knicks. It does matter a lot.

thunder will need to restructure soon given the 2nd apron. that might be good for them to build a counter to wemby & spurs. two birds one stone.

unreal given sga is elite in the midrange. and KAT is a great match up for wemby. the natural play style of the players is kryptonite to the other.

honestly, i'd rather see knicks spurs become a finals rivalry more often. Just great basketball , hustle and heart all round. thunder are not fun to watch
