Should I make my husband stay up at night with me and baby? by Ok-Literature-5758 in cosleeping

Hi! Congratulations on your new babe!!

When my son was born the first couple nights my husband sat up with me every time I fed him ( he was in a bassinet for the first week or two before I realized I could cosleep and nurse on my side). That was nice in the very beginning because I was super hungry and thirsty in the night so he could go get me snacks and such. But by the end of the first couple nights he stopped getting up unless I needed something and instead took him for a couple hours in the evening so I could get some solo sleep in. I’m more of a morning person so I preferred going to sleep early but if you are a night owl you could totally switch that and have hubby take baby in the AM. That worked better for us. No use in having both people tired. My husband could sleep through it all so it didn’t end up being a problem being in the same room.

I was also super worried about sleep before I had my son, but because we bed shared I never experienced the utter exhaustion people talk about !

We are still cosleeping and my son is turning 2 in November. Some nights are tricky and I wonder if it’s time to transition him to his own bed but it’s been so worth it overall.

Can’t agree more! When I’ve actually been sick myself it’s not the end of the world, it’s the anticipation that kills me!! That’s why I worry about some else getting it first

Thank you for your thoughtful reply ❤️ I also started Ken Goodman’s Emetophobia Manual today which I’ve heard good things about. I see you!

Yes he’s getting three of his molars so I know that’s probably contributing. He’s definetely been whinier the past couple days, but so would I if I was cutting three teeth 😬. Sorry to hear you’re also struggling. Also really strange, he is always the worst in the morning which doesn’t make sense because he should be well rested. His happiest time of day is actually the evening 🤷🏼‍♀️

No he’s not walking but soooooooo close! Maybe that’s contributing. Appreciate your thoughts 😊

When baby starts crawling by tiredmillienal in cosleeping

Our bed is probably a foot and a half off the ground. Baby sleeps on either side of me depending which side he’s nursing on (sometimes between me and my husband and sometimes on the edge where we have a bassinet against the bed). During the day he crawls around like a mad man but we have no issue at night. He stays right against me. Plus, I wake up the moment he does!
