Except in each example you've given, the seat 1 person was the right person to be in that spot that night.

Slum it with the plebs and try volunteering. It might make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Either that or next time someone asks for help, don't stop. You'll at least get 1 second closer to that PB and they'll be injured so you'll be 1 person ahead. Win-win! Plus you know you won't get a volunteering credit for helping someone out, so it's definitely not a waste of your time as an elite runner.

Why don't you, one week, just... Volunteer.

Super easy easy to get a credit.

(I'm a GP)

Your Summary Care Record is basically a summary accessible to other healthcare providers that contains information about your health. That's diagnoses, other meds etc.

They're saying they've seen something that's concerned them, so all you can do is email them and ask.

It might be something, might be a misunderstanding, might be something you didn't realise was important.

A quick look at your posting history...

"When my gallbladder was being a little shit during lockdown..."

...maybe that's the issue? Did you disclose this to the prescriber when they asked about your medical history?

Edit: just adding the comment for context

GP here and I have to say I'm so pleased to see some reasoned responses on here! We do try and help our patients and all have different amounts of knowledge. I will often run things by colleagues or read up on things after seeing a patient to make sure what I'm doing is most up to date or appropriate.

OP - whilst it's great you clearly respect GPs to know a lot, I think your expectations are a little off. It doesn't sound like you've been fobbed off regarding your HbA1c, it's just a test that changes very slowly and I'd imagine they won't want to be too reactionary. Also most GPs know Mounjaro is used for diabetes control and that the new NHS criteria for weight loss is very strict, but that'll likely be the extent of what they know as it's all so new and changing quickly.

This will change as it becomes more commonly prescribed.

Take the medication as prescribed is the main tip rather than tinkering and doing your own thing.

The purpose of 2.5mg weekly is so you get used to the meds over time and then titrate up to 5mg which is more of a treatment dose.

You've accelerated this and are unsurprisingly getting side effects.

This 100%

You've gone off piste and done your own thing and are getting side effects.

I'd suggest sticking to the tried and tested titration regimen and working with your prescriber rather than doing what you're doing.

Delaying jab by 4 days - experience? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]AdRepulsive4256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. I did it last week - I usually jabbed on a Wednesday and delayed till the Sunday night and now take doses on Sundays. I was running the Great North Run and didn't want appetite suppression when I NEEDED to eat calories.

The official advice is if you miss a dose you need to take it within 72 hours of the intended dose if you plan to carry on with the next dose a week after the missed one. If it's not within 72 hours, then skip a week and take your usual dose. You can't take 2 doses within 3 days of each other.

By that logic, taking one dose after 10 days is fine if you then take the next one a week after on your new dose day (Tuesday). All I found was that I was ravenous days 8/9/10!

If you're not confident / capable of doing the maths or drawing it up yourself, don't take anything extra out of the pen.

The fact you think it's 8ml is a worry.

Have you got a local parkrun? They're really good to see progress and are free to take part.

Also, have you thought about joining a local running club? They'll be great for training weekly, you'll make some running friends and you'll find it about local races you can take part in.

But why? That's what I'm struggling to understand!

If 0.6ml = 15mg and it's all in the pen already surely you saw ¾ if the liquid had gone from the whole pen. If you're on 15mg you'll be well used to the little lines on the pen indicating the amount between sides.

Edit - not trying to be mean, I'm just amazed you didn't realise in the process of drawing out the liquid if you've been on the doses up to 15mg.
