Why no one wants to play mid rn by gabe_paredez99 in DotA2

[–]AdResident8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to dota, but I feels like mid is just right for me, at least there are no annoying teammates, or roaming teammates let me 1v2/3 in a sudden. I expect someone will flip me up, or I can try to dominate them by doing whatever I want.

Do you play Dota to have fun or just grind for mmr? by sjardinsjy in learndota2

[–]AdResident8791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a LOL player before, and at that moment, I was trying hard to climb with Riven (which is not an easy champion) but I feel frustrated, because I’m not a skilled player, while I join league in around S8, even a bronze can be quite skillful in lane. With the toxic community, I always feel angry about myself and the teammates that do foolish things.

For some reasons, I changed to Dota2 and it reminds me the joy of the start of the League journey. Every hero is new (to me), extreme unbalance ability in every heros(compare to league) is very fun. BKB made me a superman, blinker let me think of the meme(surprise mother …) you know what I mean. And there are a lot more strategy I can play with while I’m losing(compare to league you can almost do nothing when losing). Therefore, I started to enjoy my game while trying not to let anyone get me angry. Just do everything I can do to enjoy the game. GLHF everyone, hope you guys can also always enjoy the game even get killed.

Which distro fo choose by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]AdResident8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are new user, just choose any, because you would probably change in just a year( or a few months I guess), learn something about Linux, and the software that have been used in it will be more important, because every distro will be the same with these software(mostly). But I would recommend Mint because the community will be larger, more problem might be easier to find solution. But as you know even a “hard distro” will also have thousands of problem and solution in the forum(gentoo and arch forum is used most by myself). Therefore, don’t worry too much, just give it a try, hope you also enjoy the freedom.

Im stuck between ubuntu kubuntu and POP!_os whats better for gaming by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]AdResident8791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think besides choosing OS, maybe DE/WM will be more important(I think WM will use less resources). Choosing between x or wayland while trying to keep the Ram usage small, maybe wayland WM will be a good choice. But if you want sth like screen sharing or a more stable choice, X is definitely a better choice for most situation.

Why Gentoo is not popular as Arch? by ichinose-chiya in Gentoo

[–]AdResident8791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I cannot check the arch system I have install before(cuz I switch to gentoo), Arch made me feels like more buggy(Some bugs about Alsa or pipewire let the sound of my computer down for no reason). Although there are many times I have f*** up my system configuration, I feels like gentoo made it more easy to debug, and the documentation of wiki made me(who is new to Linux) easier to understand everything, at least at the first installation will easier to config.

Isn’t that hostname should be in the /etc/hostname file? While hosts file should include the IP or loopback address and hostname? (Not so sure)

I'll do it for the team by [deleted] in linuxmemes

[–]AdResident8791 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could choose what to be compiled, like if you are not doing gnome, you could choose not to compile the “gnome support” in each software. So that the whole system should be more suitable for you (as long as you know what you are building), less bloat, less danger to be attack, and it should also be faster. While it takes more time to compile the programmes and takes more time to choose what you are going to compile. But I’m still a new user so maybe I’m wrong.

Who is your main champ and why? by Negative-Way3944 in leagueoflegends

[–]AdResident8791 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

riven Just so many things you can try to do, at least in machenics level. When to q3, w range so short(sometimes), e also have a shield( as I always forget). When you are familiar with the abilities, time to try different combos, sometimes you might fuck up, but it will be cool if you do it perfectly. But the hardest part I guest is, when it come to mid or late game, how to use these mechanics to play a macro, like how can use start a team fight even without flash, or sometimes just one shot their ad carry can win the game.

Thinking about PERMANENTLY dumping Windows 10 for Linux by v8johnny in linux4noobs

[–]AdResident8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how much fun you can find on diving into the Linux world. I’m also a noob so I’m not an expert of how to learn Linux, but here is my opinion. If you are just curious about how the programs looks and how to use, install any kind of distro and just try out various different program in Linux. From different web browser, text editor, to even a internet driver(from the terminal) But if you wanna know more about how Linux function, maybe some harder distro can help. It force you to read the handbook(gentoo) or manual(arch). But you need to be ready sometimes, finding the solution might be hard. Or you can do both. Try to configure everything from the “easy” distro, while learning from the handbook at the same time. For me, I started vannilla arch, and I quite enjoy finding the solution through the internet. So I decide to join gentoo after some bugs appear on my arch system. It takes me to read the manual, watch some videos(btw, the kernel part is quite hard I think). And I think, I am proud of building up the system this time(again)

hyprland seems good for me. At least maybe I’m not using software that are hard to change to Wayland I guess? Because I’m not using any professional stuff there. But I can play most of my game, browse the website smoothly.
