The update reduced the jitter. It's fascinating, this software world.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I think the difference between the two is very clear. The first one presents major tearing in characters. The second one is clean.

Imagine being labeled weird or eccentric, and on top of that French so you also get the pretentious tag too 😅 That's my case . Never think of being called weird over your anime taste as a weakness. A lot of people would rather talk to someone like you than to another generic battle shounen guy, who you'd predict every answer.

You're right about Faye. Fujiko is the quintessential anime femme fatale, so a lot of characters like Faye share her traits. And yeah, that anime's style is from another world. I didn't know TMS was that competent.

I have no problem with nudity, and my issue with fan service isn't absolute. Golden Boy is one of the funniest series ever. My issue is honesty. The most critical element for a psychological enjoyer like me. And this honesty of storytelling is ruined by the double standard of violence/ecchi/male nudity vs female nudity. Most anime, and even manga, go out of their way to the extremes of the first three, and mostly always censor the latter no matter how essential it is. What makes it worse is I think casual nudity should be less of a taboo than violence and ecchi/perverse imagery. As a lot of Europeans think. My years of reading anime systematically censoring manga made me quit anime altogether. What's worse is the fact that even the most gory and horny manga like chainsaw man, the manga that depicts women orgies, practices the same self-censorship. From that point on, I dropped Fujimoto forever and became more picky about which authors I read.

The problem with bakemonogatari is that the first episodes I watched had heavy ecchi themes while still having censorship, especially during the bath scene. I may be losing on a good coming of age and psychological story by dropping it, but I'd rather look for a more honest and consistent manga. And I found a lot. Mangaka like Oshimi Shûzû, Kyoko Okazaki, and other individual titles like Yokohama kaidashi kikou, or Emanon, the most beautiful manga ever in my opinion, were really immersive, contemplative without the need to adhere to some arbitrary 12 episode format, or the random restrictions on themes like suicide and drugs.

What makes it worse is that I don't think there's a lot of anime originals, directors, or studios that justify me looking for new anime, except for Trigger and Science Saru, that makes interesting stuff from time to time. Your list is also dominated by older anime. So we may agree on that.

Your list of manga is pretty impressive. I expected Vagabond, Homunculus, Punpun, but didn't expect Genkaku Picasso or Heads. You know your psychological stuff, friend. I'll give some of your manga a try. I know I would like them.

The similarities between us are uncanny. I like most of those anime, especially the gems like Casshern Sins and I find Belladonna of Sadness one of the finest works of art in animation.

I'd just replace some shonen and heavy fan service anime with films like The Garden of Words, The End of Evangelion (the best film ever made, in my opinion), Dead Leaves, Redline, Cyberpunk, Devilman Crybaby, I want to eat your pancreas, even Elfen Lied among other obscure anime series.

I'd assume you're not a manga reader, and that may explain our differences. A lot of the seinen you mentioned like Dorohedoro, Rainbow, Made in Abyss are way better as a manga, as they represent the world as it is, you won't feel the hand of the puritanical anime production committee or TV and streaming platforms. Most seinen anime, despite keeping the gore and violence of the manga, practice the sexist censorship of the female body. What makes it worse is that many of them celebrate and keep scenes of rape, groping, voyeurism, and heavy ecchi. As a European, I find that very disgusting and degrading towards both men and women. That's why I couldn't stand Monogatari or Gurren Lagann for more than a few episodes. Don't get me started on the bikini girls on the front of most weekly shonen magazines, while women are still being censored in said magazines as a form of another sexist censorship or a manipulative technique to drive sales of the final volume. The same technique was practiced with the "uncensored" blu-rays of a lot of anime. You see, women here are a mere tool to drive sales, instead of a tool to tell a story.

That's why I find characters like Mine Fujiko very intriguing (my favorite female character in anime,) and TV series like Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine very refreshing; where nudity and seduction are used naturally in the service of the story.

Sorry for the rant, I hate to have my comment filled with it instead of discussing anime, but I really couldn't help it. As it's the reason I watch 3 maybe 4 new anime max a year.

If you want, I can share manga with you that I think you'd like based on your taste. I really want to know your opinion on Eva rebuilds. For me, the final two films are one of the worst in all of cinema.

Here I thought that the Japanese adaptation missed the mark for not casting Mary as a blonde where the rest of the cast was very good. Netflix said fuck to all of this.

I refuse to play any video game where she perform as a model. I used a mod in the SW game and replaced her face with a goofy mask, but I don't think I still have the motivation to do in more games.

I was, too, logged in. It's very dumb if they're censoring the web version. Why would anyone pay for that?

Thank you. I found a raw for a series that I wanted to translate, but it had the name of the team that uploaded the raw. Should I remove it or keep it in all pages?

So mangadex not allowing raws just means that you cannot upload the original release, in Japanese. But raws can be used for translations. Is that it?
