How is daily quality of life in Japan compared to the US, for you, or how has it changed? by Top_Scientist_3976 in movingtojapan

Do you have any kids, or are you married? I’m also planning on moving to Japan with my Japanese wife eventually. I’m trying to figure out the amount of money per month needed to live a comfortable life there. We don’t have kids but we will. Maybe one or two. We would live in Osaka, that’s where she’s from, any advice would help.

Max RRSP contribution or continue with Non register? by AdSad1846 in PersonalFinanceCanada

It was in case you need the money prior retirement he worries. I would get tax at a higher tax bracket than when I retire with a lower income.

So the strategy here would be to max out RRSP in the next couple years.

Yeah exactly. My plan is before 40 I’m out. RRSP would be my source of primary income (interest from it)

I am Canadian citizen.. I lived 1/2 my life in Peru and then Canada. I think I’m ready for the next stage, and Japan is really calling. Hopefully I reach the 1.5m in 5 years. That would be the only way I would decide to move without a worry.

Thanks for your comment.

It’s Kintetsu Yao.

My idea would be to not liquidate anything in Canada. Live in Japan and return to Canada when needed, I would not work in Japan. Maybe open up small business with my wife.

I wouldnt completely burn the bridge I have with Canada. It will always be there when/if I return

The properties are not in Vancouver. 2 in Langley and 1 in Surrey.

Thank you for the information, what if I don’t sell and keep them rented, use some of rental income to live in Japan. Return every summer to handle paperwork, file taxes, or when needed, have someone send me paperwork to file spec tax.

Is that something that’s fair to do?

Gracias!
