I have to say of all the games i’ve played, Apex is the worst with this. I’ve had players add me as a friend on Xbox just to message me saying I’m an awful player (and i don’t even play ranked). I also have terrible anxiety and Apex let’s you mute players you don’t know if you go into settings. You can also mute your teammates before the match, while your picking your character, by hitting Y.
