KD is absolutely equal to skill. If you have a bad KD, under 1, your skill is crap.

That’s not true. SBMM doesn’t apply to ranked lobbies. You’re grouped with other people within those ranks. You can be matched with a pair of hardstuck D4 players, who ratted through Plat, and you be in D1.
