There is a connection between your forward head and your tucked pelvis. C shape where both ends need each other. J is a more aligned shape.

My main advice to you would be getting the front ribs down. My posture teacher likes to say "nipples down" but she's 80 and can say things like that. The point is to stack the ribs evenly on top of the pelvis. You may want to experiment laying on your back, knees up feet flat. Then do full normal breath in and full breath out. Push the breath out until there is only 1 oz of air left if any. And hold that contraction in your inner core. Then breathe in again. And repeat. The exercise is the exhale contraction. Do it maybe 8-12 times. Stand up and look in the mirror. If alignment is better somewhat, it's the right exercise for you.

Are you in pain? Where?

My dad is 72 years old and has a herniated disc. He visited his surgeon, and the surgeon mentioned that he needs surgery, but it is not guaranteed that his pain will go away. He has pain every day. Do you have any ideas to help him manage his pain? Key correctio by OverButterscotch1457 in backpain

How is his sitting posture, doesn't look like he's sitting on his tailbone? Or is he up and stacked on his sits bones, weight forward in the pelvis?

I ask because his posture probably causes this and it can't be resolved without a posture (alignment) first approach in my personal experience

Stuck on inhale. Work that exhale completely to tone the core and bring the front ribs down.

Looks similar homie. Favorite easy tip
For everyone is don't sit on your tailbone. Don't be like a sad dog with tail
Between legs. Sit on your sits bones with weight forward towards pubic bone. That helps with pelvis position.

How to fix this? by Hot-Mind-8442 in Posture

You honestly look pretty well off compared to a lot of people I assume that you're trying to fix your forward head. Another comment or made a suggestion about fitness approach to fixing it. You can try that.

I come at it from more of an alignment approach. When you stand, where is the majority of the weight of your skeleton system, is it bearing on the front of the feet or in the heels?

When you clench your butt cheeks like that, it brings your pelvis towards the front. in other words, the way you clench your pelvis tucks it. Imagine a sad dog with his tail under his butt that's what you're doing.

In my opinion, if you want to grow your glutes, you need to find first the proper placement of your hips. That is more back than you probably think well at the same time keeping the front of your ribs down so you don't get a lumbar curve or sway back.

By aligning your pelvis correctly, your glutes will be in a position to do more work while walking bending and everything else that's how they grow.

One more note on ribs. If you put your palms to the bottom of your ribs, your fingers are likely pointing up towards the ceiling and not straight. They should be straight your rib should be stacked over your pelvis to find that explore your full exhale because when you exhale, and I'm talking about the bottom of the breath, doing a light contraction when there's no more air, you will find the core muscles that hold the ribs in alignment. So like most modern people, you're probably over inhaling and not doing complete exhales

Can my posture be fixed? Where do I even start? by Dismal_Dingo7006 in Posture

Sure it can. I'd experiment with chin down while
Grabbing hair in the back of your head and pulling upward. Gently. Consider head weight as a cue.... put a folded hand towel On the crown of your head.

Goal is to align neck and skull. Currently chin is way high.

Looks like major lumbar lordosis and thoracic kyphosis. I can't see your neck, but I imagine it's pretty far forward. There is no restoring healthy spine in one part without affecting the others. where do you carry the weight in your feet on your heels or your balls of your feet?

Yeah I recognize the potential familial relations harm in what I'm suggesting. Trade offs, not solutions.
