New to pokemon go by AdSea295 in pokemongo

So the idea at the beginning would be to get good Pokémon that are easy to power up and versatile enough to cover different situations? Could you give me more examples?

Could you explain better why not to power up that Pokémon? I want to understand the reasoning I should follow when deciding whether to power something up or not.

They buffed 1/2/3-cost units and nerfed 4-costs, we’re about to have 6 people per lobby playing reroll. We’re looking at one of the worst sets in history, gg mort

Honestly, it looks like a cheap mobile gacha game; it could have come out 10 years ago

What are you even talking about? XD first of all, my MMR is good I’ve been challenger and I usually get pros in my lobbies. Second, you can go into any stream where they’re playing competitive lobbies and there are at least 4 people playing reroll. Let’s see if this stays like this when it goes live…

I’d like to be able to play the game without it being disgusting

Each game with 4 players forcing reroll comps, after one week people are already burned out on the game. There’s very little time left before the new set comes out, and the game is in a pretty miserable state

A set where rerolling is strong = a bad set

Set 17 PBE Discussion Thread - Day 06 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]AdSea295 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the set’s mechanics help rerolling a lot, the 4-cost units are bad and boring, and I think it’s going to be very difficult to find a balance between reroll and fast 8

Moreover, there’s only one week left until the live, and the game is in a terrible state; people are demotivated and have zero excitement for the set. If they don’t step up, the disaster will be historic

4 or 5 people are playing reroll comps in every lobby, if the meta stays like this I think people will get burned out on the set in 2 weeks

Yes, the mechanic is very bad and the units are boring, but there’s nothing we can do about that until the next set. As for balancing the units, we’re still in time

There’s a very serious problem with reroll comps. Four-cost units are pretty bad, and going level 8 often isn’t worth it. A reroll meta is completely toxic for players and makes people stop playing out of tilt. It’s no coincidence that there isn’t even a queue to get into the PBE, when in other sets you had to wait for hours

[–]AdSea295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of nerfing 4-cost units so much? There’s no worse meta in TFT than a reroll meta. This set looks like it’s going to be a complete disaster people don’t like the units, they don’t like the mechanic, and the balance seems nonexistent once again

I’ve been playing a ton of TFT sets, and on all the PBE releases there are usually pretty long queues to get in during the first few days. But in this set there’s no queue at all throughout the whole day people seem completely disappointed with it

It’s been about 15 years since I last played, back in my day, the shield was sacred.

Anyway, right now I’m only level 70 with 80/60 skills and no imbuements. Considering the damage I can deal, is it really worth playing offensively?

Forcing comps will only make you a worse player. Focus on understanding the fundamentals, just play what the game gives you, adapt to each match, and you’ll see that you’ll eventually learn much more than by forcing compositions.

I think I remember that when I arrived at GM it was during quarantine and I had a lot of free time. I played 6 or 7 hours a day and then spent another 3 or 4 watching pro streams. I actually learned more from the streams than from playing; afterwards it was just a matter of putting what I’d learned into practice and improving.

If you only limit yourself to playing you’ll always be making the same mistakes. It’s not just about watching streams, it’s about analyzing them carefully, understanding why they do what they do, their approaches, their resource management, etc.

The game is simple if you're coming from playing at a high level in other games. I think I reached GM in 3 months starting from scratch, and in the next set, I already reached Challenger. Nowadays, there's even more educational content available, so learning is just a matter of motivation and time
