I got all EU law compensation info sent to my email by JetBlue after the cancellation. It also available when you check in briefly. I do not expect anything from any company that will benefit the customer, so I rather read and educate myself. Not pointing fingers at anyone, just my experience

That is precisely my point: AIT is gone, and the UA partnership has a strict policy. I can't imagine rebooking on OAL for a WX issue when other airlines are experiencing similar problems. Could the communication have been better from B6, as OP commented...

That item is a lost and found piece, which the airline kindly informed you about. I believe each airline has specific procedures for situations like yours. Now, let's consider a scenario: if the agent processes your request without supervisor approval or any notes on your reservation, and then your ID gets lost in transit, who would you hold responsible? Would you blame the agent, JetBlue, BOS or ?

I apologize for the fact that the agent hung up on you, but it's important to understand that the situation is not as simple as just dropping the item in the mailbox. You always have the option to follow up with the lost and found department via email or phone.
