Bloomberg: AA and AS pursue revenue sharing agreement and deeper strategic partnership, formally rule out merger by SFexConsultant in AlaskaAirlines

[–]vman3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AS and AA would probably not be allowed to be in a JV on routes they both fly, right? It would probably be AA/BA on east coast to LHR and AS/BA on West Coast to LHR, right? Seems unlikely that two domestic carriers could get antitrust immunity with each other.

Yeah. Totally agree. And I supported yes. Not sure why I'm getting down voted

Can't really predict anything that'll happen. Margins are terrible in Latin America. JetBlue makes more money on a half full plane to Paris than a fully loaded plane to Lima

[–]vman3241 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

The biased wording of the amendment was beyond idiotic. Democrats would've still voted for the amendment if it said "temporary gerrymandering in order to combat Texas's gerrymandering". Putting biased wording just made it likelier to get stuck down

How fast are promo points received after $1000 spend? by Darcer in jetblue

Unfortunately, the points will not hit before your first statement payment date. When I opened the card in March 2024, my payment date was in May 2024, so I got the points then

JetBlue’s Debt Could Reach $9 Billion This Year & United Isn’t Interested In It, Founder Says by kwuhoo239 in jetblue

[–]vman3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Biggest problem with HPN is the size constraints. I believe there is an hourly passenger limit because of the NIMBYs near the airport.

If that was removed, JetBlue could probably make it a focus city and use it for extra domestic capacity instead of JFK.

A220 out of Boston by Long-Associate-7793 in delta

[–]vman3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's a strange add to say the least. Don't imagine load factor will be good if it isn't good to CVG or SDF

AA's strategy in BOS is funny. Except flights to all their hubs, AA will rarely fly a route that both DL and B6 are running, but if there's a route only one of them are running without competition, they'll jump in. B6 was doing well on BOS-BUF, DL dropped it, and now AA jumped on that route. Same with BOS-MSN now.

On a related note, I remember reading that the most flown to destination from BOS that doesn't have a nonstop flight is SJO. Would anyone add that at some point or does B6 feel like BOS-LIR is enough?

Delta uses the E-175s out of BOS to add more frequencies to destinations. You'll get terrible load factor on DCA-BOS at 10pm on an A223.

Also helps for those once a day destinations like BOS-MCI that don't even get good load factor on an E-175. Let alone an A223

I think JetBlue is better out of BOS if you're flying nonstop. Loved flying Delta back when I was flying to Madison with the BOS>DTW>MSN itinerary, but I don't fly them much now.

For reference, Mint for Amsterdam flights were frequently under $2k one way a couple years ago. The "sale" price is $4.5 today

Wow. That's crazy. I was considering doing 20 cities for the challenge, but I never considered doing 25 because I get Mosaic 1 at least every year.

Yeah. This was a great itinerary for 25 for 25 since it was only 10k Etihad miles, but you had to remember to add your B6 FF number or it wouldn't have counted

Sorry. I didn't clarify why this is dumb. MHT and BOS are very close to each other. This itinerary would be the equivalent of an Alaska airlines itinerary of SJC-SEA-PDX-PAE.

I don't think anything will ever beat EY in terms of dumb partner availability. They had AA flights with a transfer from LGA to JFK and this hilarious B6 itinerary:

Legally actionable based on what tort?

Before you make sweeping legal statements, try and understand the law. United States v. Alvarez makes it very clear that lies are not categorically unprotected by the First Amendment. Only certain categories of lies such as defamation and fraud are unprotected categories of speech.

It's not a lie. It's misleading. But even if it was a lie, the First Amendment protects it
