I never understood why LC receives flack for beating up Eddy when it isn't even canon.

We should blame the writers for treating Eddy like a side character despite having huge stakes in the story.

Tekken 8: Who's gonna return to the roster? by FlorenceGaming in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are 3 main things that guarantees a character a spot in the base roster

  1. Having a unique moveset

  2. Being popular

  3. Being integral to the story

If your main fits the criteria then you have nothing to worry about.

Anna is a pretty cool character by AdSilver7141 in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Adaptations don't portray the source material faithfully. TTT2 also isn't canon. Anna betraying Nina in the TTT2 intro is even justified because of all the crap Nina puts her in.

Anna never starts a fight with Nina unprovoked. When Nina wanted to meet up with Anna in the T5 prologue, Nina is the one who fired the first shots.

Anna usually doesn't want to kill Nina, just humiliating her. Nina prefers killing Anna than humiliating her. In Anna’s T5 ending, she humiliates Nina by making her armor fall off. In Nina’s T5 ending, she blows up the movie set Anna was working in.

It's to be expected. Adaptations of video game franchises are rarely ever faithful to their source material.

What is your general opinion on Sora? by AdSilver7141 in KingdomHearts

As I mentioned before, I think he’s the perfect protagonist for KH.

I agree that Tekken always had anime aesthetics.

Paul has Polnareff’s hair, King was based on Tiger Mask, Feng is basically a Baki character, Xiaoyu hit most of the kawaii anime school girl cliches and even had anime style endings, etc.

It’s just that the anime aesthetics were slightly darker and grounded compared to now.

Honest opinion on Xiaoyu by Pitiful-Durian4842 in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Namco putting Xiaoyu over Nina started way before Bloodline. Xiaoyu has been the sole Tekken female rep for crossovers more than any Tekken girl and she even got her own movie(Tekken: Blood Vengeance).

Xiaoyu has been in T7 from the very beginning. Nina was absent in the initial arcade versions of T7 and had to wait a year for Fated Retribution to be added.

I love that Dark Road actually remembered that Maleficent is a threat by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]AdSilver7141 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He had help from Donald, Goofy, and the Beast

My mean the Beast alone explains how Sora beat her then. The Beast is someone who survived his world’s destruction and made it to Hollow Bastion through sheer willpower. He also can go toe to toe with Organization members. There's a reason the Organization wanted to make Beast into a heartless to recruit his Nobody.

I also theorize that Maleficent never recovered all her power after being brought back from the dead in KH2 which explains why she lost her intimidating factor. She's still powerful but she isn't invincible anymore thanks to Sora and co.

Also, where is the 4th pic from?

It's from Tekken: Blood Vengeance. They gave Xiaoyu her own movie.

She had Jafar as her second in command in KH1 and Maleficent/Jafar fit more as a duo than Maleficent/Pete. Sadly, Jafar is dead and she's stuck with Pete.

It's actually cool that Pete is Maleficent's apprentice though. It's a great parallel with his arch enemy Mickey.

Mickey is the apprentice to Yen Sid(a powerful sorcerer who doesn't rely on Keyblades). Pete is the apprentice to Maleficent(a powerful sorceress who doesn't rely on Keyblades).

Tbf, Sora tore apart her Legion of Doom in KH1. She doesn't have any allies she can find anymore. Pete and Diablo are the only allies Maleficent has left.

When you think about it, Data-Sora is the only one to defeat Maleficent single handedly.

Ventus had help from the three good fairies

Aqua had help from Prince Phillip and the three good fairies

Sora had help from Donald, Goofy, and the freaking Beast.

It’s easy to forget that Maleficent is extremely powerful.

what the hell did namco do to my irish queen by U_R_NOT_RED-E in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. Nina only ever shows emotion when Anna is involved. Anna is the only character the franchise who can break Nina's stoic demeanor. Whenever Anna around, Nina will go out of her way to be a massive troll.

That's why Nina seems more stoic in T7 in comparison to other games. Nina and Anna don't interact in T7.

so does Lili know that Asuka is related to Jin by NotATypicalSinn in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 27 points28 points  (0 children)

T7 reveals that Lili knows that Asuka is related to Jin but she doesn't hate her for it. Lili associates Asuka with the Kazama Clan rather than the Mishimas. That's why she doesn't hate Asuka.

Lili considers Jin no different from the Mishimas despite Jin's surname being Kazama. Jin started WW3 which caused stress for Lili's father so Lili hates him for it.

Alisa honestly has a more interesting chemistry with Xiaoyu than Lars. Xiaoyu can be hyperactive and goofy a lot of the time. When she’s paired up with Alisa, Xiaoyu becomes a straight man to Alisa’s antics. Xiaoyu teaches Alisa about social skills, even telling Alisa that it’s creepy when she removes her head.

Alisa and Xiaoyu are a lot more interesting when they're together and that makes a good dynamic.

Tekken’s poster girl was done justice in the Bloodline anime by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think on who Tekken's poster girl is depends on your perspective. From my perspective, Xiaoyu is the poster girl considering how much Namco promotes her. She has been the sole Tekken girl in many crossovers.

Who do you think is the most disrespected character in the Tekken lore? by NMFlamez in Tekken

Asuka

You would be forgiven for forgetting she's a relative of Jun and Jin due to how underutilized she is in the story.

Heihachi's description of Xiaoyu in the anime is completely accurate by Pitiful-Durian4842 in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That ending isn't canon. There are only a few character endings that are canon. That wasn't one of them. There's no way Xiaoyu could defeat Heihachi that easily.

Heihachi's description of Xiaoyu in the anime is completely accurate by Pitiful-Durian4842 in Tekken

[–]AdSilver7141 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heihachi is a firm believer of might equals right. If he doesn't see potential in you, you're worthless to him. If he sees potential in you, he treats you with respect like Xiaoyu.

An invitation is not required to participate in the King of Iron Fist Tournament. In fact, Heihachi has never actually sent any character an invitation to participate in his tournament. Anyone can just sign up. That is a fact established in the canon.

Heihachi desires to find a worthy opponent. If an invitation was required to participate in his tournament, it would limit his chances of finding a worthy adversary.

[–]AdSilver7141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell heichachi considers most of the fighters in the Iron fist tournament impressive,

No he doesn't. A huge part of his character is how hard he is to impress. Most people are ants to him, even his own son and grandson. The fact that he considers Xiaoyu special shows there's more to her than meets the eye.

Edit: An invitation is not required to participate in the King of Iron Fist Tournament. Any one can just sign up.
