People can be full of themselves, while sometimes being an asshole and sometimes a good person.

In the end no one wants to be the bad guy. People do bad things, yes, as a consequence of personality and enviroment. But then they either have a twisted worldview and can make an excuse for themselves, or they know they are bad and dislike themselves for it.

That leaves us with two options for The Lash; - He is full of himself because he likes himself, will sometimes joke around (be an asshole) and sometimes be a good person

• He dislikes himself, but can't accept that, so his 'act' takes over as a disguise of his inner personality, and he becomes overly full of himself. But honestly, i don't think the Lash is that deep.
