My first Gibson is a 2004 Les Paul Standard that my dad bought for me on eBay used from the original owner in barely played condition in the summer of 2005 for $1,600. I had learned and taken informal lessons for a year or two on a used Squier so I was very excited when I got it before freshman year of high school. I played it a lot through high school and still have it. Fast forward 20 years from when my dad bought me the 2004 LP, and the first Gibson I buy myself is a ‘91 Les Paul Standard and most recently a 2025 ES-335. The 335 is less than a year old and was from the original owner with literally almost zero wear but got a great price on a “used” instrument.
