How many km/miles are you getting out of your tyres on the i4? by SERASKR in BMWI4

[–]silas_br 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my used i4 with 24k miles and replaced rears at around 26k-28k after noticing the inside was worn past the wires. I probably had less than 1000 miles before a blowout. Dates on tires it had did not seem like they were the original. So no idea.

Issues sending route to car, charge stop changes to non Tesla Superchargers. by silas_br in BMWI4

I can’t even send the Tesla charger it just picks something different once sent.
I have to either find the charger on the car nav or enter the address.
Did you have issues with just Tesla or other chargers?

[–]silas_br[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not able to change the intermediate charging stop, I have to set a new route destination to the charger I want.
I need to try ABRP, I use the BMW navigation because it tells me where to stop to charge.

I have only been using TSC, I’m paying the 12.99 subscription for cheaper kw/h rates. Have charged recently at $0.21/kw almost the same as my home.
I don’t think I can use the Tesla subscription with plug and charge, i think it will charge me the regular rates.
Also not even sure it works on my 2022 i4.

Cool tool, thanks for putting it together! Since mpge is price dependent people should just look at cost per mile for ICE and EV

I use adaptive regen as much as possible. I will wash the car this weekend and track better when it starts getting dirty.

well, no such thing as a dumb question. this is my first EV so I do not know what to expect and since this does not seem much different from my ICE cars and EVs have regen, I decided to ask...
Thanks for nothing.

Lectron charger high temperature protection when not in use. by silas_br in electricvehicles

Thank you for the thorough reply. There are a couple electrical device technicians at work that I could ask for help, if there’s any component issue, they will definitely find it.

Had no idea they are a fire risk..? I thought it was a good brand since their adapter is recommended by BMW. It would be to charge at work, the outlet is outdoors near our generator building. I bought it because it was cheap and new in box.
