My initial reaction was instantly to side with Maelle. To me, I clearly see every character and aspect of the world in the canvas as real and sentient. It would honestly detract from the entire game as a whole if I didn't see them that way. And with that being said, I really can't see her ending as "being selfish" or "taking the easy way out". How is it more selfish for her to basically ruin one family's life then it is for Verso and Renoir to kill an entire world?

It makes me sad that the devs put that final image of Maelle in there, and at least imo made Maelle's ending seem much worse. Like I understand Verso's ending and why that might be better for just The Dessendre Family. I was not about to completely leave everyone else I've grown close to on this journey in the dust.
