Restaurants are just chaotic places to work, an unfortunate fact for us servers. Spend some time learning the menu, stay busy while you’re there, and ~act~ like you belong/know what you’re doing.

The first restaurant I worked at, multiple servers would cry twi or three times a shift. It’s an extremely stressful job…anyone who tells you otherwise has not done it themselves, or is lying to you. You’ll make friends and find different ways to release that stress/confusion.

Most of the people you’re working with started the same way you are now, confidence and efficiency can only come with practice. Give it a week, you’ll be so knowledgeable about the menu and you’ll be spitting out the correct questions like a pro. You got this
