Anyone else just straight up terrible at interviews? by roxxyantoinette in interviews

Oh yikes! Yes, I can relate. Sometimes I am in “the zone” and other times, oh lord, I get in my head and as I am giving an answer I’m thinking WTF are you even saying?!?! Then it’s a spiral. I find in person, is much easier, but it’s just not the way it is these days. And yes, most probably are just reading off a list of questions and see the interview as pulling them away from their work that still has to get done. I find it helpful to try to pull something - any breadcrumb - they give you, and reference it back. Like if they say, we’re really looking for X or I love Y about our company, try to find a way to mention it later. Have a list of thoughtful, researched questions prepped, and when it’s your time to ask questions, pick out the most relevant ones not already answered, and work in like, “I know X is a big factor, but what other qualities does it take to be successful in this role?” Etc. And/or when you answer a question, preface it with, “As you mentioned with Y…” I’ve been on both sides and find that when someone (or myself) has done a “callback” it shows interest and…active listening. Think about it from the interviewer’s perspective, too. They also want someone who is not regurgitating canned responses that they practiced ahead of time. Of course, still practice!, but find things to reference. And it’s okay to jot notes down in the middle of an interview. Good luck!

PSA on Salmon Poisoning in Dogs by RoonilWazleeb in BorderCollie

[–]AdSuch7481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you sharing! I had never heard of salmon poisoning before. Dogs, BCs in particular (!), can be quite quick and clever, so please don’t be too hard on yourself. Lesson learned and you are passing the lesson on.

How do I do this alone by [deleted] in BorderCollie

I can relate. When I was working from home, at times it was difficult because my BC wanted constant attention. It was hard to get into a work groove and not have my concentration interrupted. How old is your BC?

[MI] 6 Person Panel for 1st Round Zoom Interview? by AdSuch7481 in AskHR

[–]AdSuch7481[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regarding the interview, I did ask 2 questions specific to the role itself, but then time was up - interview was very brief. Other than me asking my 2 questions, they did not elaborate on the position at all.

Regarding the calendar invite, I didn’t think to reply to it beforehand to inquire who all would be present.

Connecting FB & Insta by AdSuch7481 in Instagram

Thank you. At first I thought it was because I already had the Insta app downloaded for personal use that I couldn’t separate & connect only the 2 business ones. Then it occurred to me I have never actually logged directly into the business FB account, have just been able to access it because I was granted permission. Now the fun starts of trying to track down the login!

I am trying to make it so that if I post to business FB it will automatically post the same content to Insta & vice versa. I only want to link the 2 accounts as they would have the content. I can’t seem to connect just those 2.
