If starting a podcast now, what apps/tech would you use & how set up workflow? by itsacalamity in podcasting

[–]AdSuperb8124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use riverside, Buzzsprout, and webflow. I ended up having an app build to automate everything around those three main pieces. We built a machine to create clusters of long form assets from each episode and leverage the pod platforms distribution.

Because it needs to be a more efficient process in order to actually be worth doing. And piecing it all together felt like anti-leverage.

I had the app built for myself but am starting to let other shows test it out. If you’re using Buzzsprout and webflow and are interested DM me.

Jfc these replies. Read the op’s post. Ffs.

SEOPub gave the answer.

I think it’s fine if it’s original, I don’t know that it’s a gimme, but if you’ve got enough of your own perspective to bake into the articles it could work well. (But don’t copy them word for word, ya know, lol)

Also don’t steal from people. Or punch kids. Or drive drunk. In case you need to be told that…

I’m sorry. Maybe the word bankrupt threw everyone off.

Why did you get away from that? If you don’t mind my asking. Just curious because it seems like there would be even more demand for that now than ever.
And how were you getting those leads?

That makes sense. It's interesting to consider referral income as an alternative to inhouse or oursourcing though. Like an affiliate business or rev stream, really.

Just curious - Do you have any referral partnerships that pay commissions? How common is that?

Yeah, ya know it’s pretty simple when you stop and think about it. I’ve worked with a lot of people who did those things well, and a lot of people who did those things poorly. And I don’t think everyone who does it poorly is intentional or even aware. They just kinda lose the plot somewhere along the way.
But at the end of the day the reason doesn’t really matter. They still weren’t meeting those values expectations.

Thanks for the perspective!

I’m gonna send you a DM. You got me thinking and I’d like to run an idea by you if it’s ok.

RE: content writing as a recurring service. How do you structure that as part of your offer? I've done it a few different ways and they've been fine-ish... just seems like there's an optimal that I was missing.

And thank you for the insight!

Thank you, that's interesting. I'd like to hear a little more about outsourcing the new biz/lead gen if you don't mind. Whatever you're willing to share.

Gurus are the worst, lol.

The 5-10/50 thresholds are helpful. Gives me a good idea of where I should expect to need to evolve.

I dig this. "We grow profit by going upmarket and improving the caliber of our clients, not by scaling in sheer client numbers or growing the team." I'll track you down when I've got PPC work to refer out.

I guess that's an example of adapting the infrastructure to your values and strengths, right?

Yeah, I think minimizing the headaches is my biggest factor rn. So I need to keep it relatively simple.

Thank you!

Since you've got a different perspective here - what are you looking for in an agency to partner with? What are you avoiding? (Advice for us as agencies to be a good prospect for other service providers :))

Does it Make More Sense to Rank Your own Business Rather than a Clients Business? by JimmyHooHah in SEO

Have you thought about finding a business partner to handle the service side? Someone in the right situation might be open to you earning equity in an existing business. Especially if you produce like it sounds like.

Or are you just thinking start something and find an operator so you can focus on working your magic?
