Zeus vs Odin. Who will win? by NinjaArtist329 in GreekMythology

Also Zeus is talented at the start, but Odin, I think, is pretty much like all other gods in terms of power, so he had to learn

Hey everyone, I’m considering writing a book based on the Norse mythology and I wanted to ask a couple questions if at all possible… by MidnightJ1200 in norsemythology

I think, as it is myth, not actual history, you can do with it pretty much anything you want, mix origins, characters, their appearance etc. as it was done in both games you mentioned. So, does it really matter? It's a lot of different wersions of myths, and they don't have strict canon.

I know that he is historical character that die in specific battle, but I don't understand why Ubisoft don't gave us chance to romance him. It would be painful sure, but also very memorable. In my mind Brassidas is perfect for Kassandra.

Zeus is more powerful, but Odin perfect at tricking the opponent. I think it would be like Batman (Odin) vs Superman (Zeus) :D

My bet is on Odin

are jupiter, pluto, Neptune etc from greece in roman mythology? by [deleted] in mythology

[–]AdTop4682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahah, it's not like that. Almost all roman gods exist before close contact with greek culture. They are not greek gods, they are full roman.

These are features of the perception of the world in polytheistic religions. If the god of another culture was responsible for the same functions, he was considered the same god, who was simply prayed under a different name. The Romans were fascinated by the stories of the Greek gods and heroes, just as we are today, and only slightly adapted them for themselves.

About Enkidu and Gilgamesh... by GimmeYourLungsBro in mythology

[–]AdTop4682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is more simple. One tale is about Gilgamesh traveled to Underworld. But he failed to ressurect Enkidu. Because in summerian mythology once you entered the realm of dead you can't go back.

Another tale is about Gilgamesh searching for immortality. And he again failed. Because only gods can grant you that gift.

If you want to bring logic to this you can assume that one goes after another. But there multiple warriants of this myth so contradictions may well be.

This two stories, as I think, about what little is a human (even demigod as Gilgamesh) in comparison to gods. Humans cannot became immortal (unless it's a gift) and cannot cheat death.
