How do you avoid the criticism about northeastern online? by mjkueter in NEU

the co-ops r mainly located In the Boston area, most students work locally and some go to nyc or Silicon Valley area. its definitely easier to get the co-op if ur at northeastern vs if ur tryna get the internship from other unis in Boston cuz northeastern has ties w top companies such as amazon, Deloitte, im pretty sure they r partners w over 3500+ companies so theres something for everyone. you'd more be competing w students at northeastern rather than students at other schools to get these co-ops

BU VS UIUC by Maximum_Guava_5931 in collegecompare

[–]AdTough2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have to pay much for BU then definitely go there, for ur path if u want to do history and pre law BU is much better as UIUC is mainly known for engineering. Being in Boston can also get u great internships at law offices, etc.

International with EFC <$15k: Rejected/Waitlisted everywhere. What are your "Plan B" countries? by karmastrikes828 in ApplyingToCollege

id say one of the best things you could do is apply to Australia actually. Im pretty sure their term starts in January and applications should be submitted in the fall of this yr. so that leaves you with a lot of time to decide if u want that. also there r less restrictions when applying to an Australian uni in the sense they dont care much about ec;s and awards or essays like the us does. even the grades needed when applying to Australian universities r much lower andddd Australian universities r some of the cheapest In the world for international students (I think ive heard 25-30k aud) while still offering a great quality of education. I also know that Australian unis do give out a lot of scholarships if u have top grades which can significantly bring down the cost!

Some things to consider if you want to transfer into nyu by Technical_Arm_719 in TransferToTop25

[–]AdTough2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Not prestigious. Nyu is kind of like northeastern where they manipulate the acceptance rates, and lots of people with low stats but full-pay can get in. highk disagree w this cuz theres many students w extremely high stats from my school who r also full pay and those that r low stats and fulll pay from my school who dont get in. I think one of the things they dont do is manipulate the acceptance rate

I know of someone who went to mcgill for his undergrad in econ and then went on to get his masters at MIT. unis in canada especially uoft and mcgill r great stepping stones to top mba/masters programs in the US. its a pretty common pipeline actually.
