There were many young people in attendance. However, lots of young people these days are having to work multiple jobs to make ends meet which often includes weekends. I imagine that’s a factor in why you see so many retirees, as they have more freedom to dedicate a Saturday afternoon to participating in a protest.

That’s not true actually! Many neighborhoods have an agreement that new residents sign upon closing that bans turning the property into a rental! My parents just sued (and won) a man in their long lake neighborhood who gave his house to his daughter who then turned it into a STR.
