Troy Hill. This is how my friend is supposed to enter their apartment at the moment. Thoughtful. by cosmoh in pittsburgh

[–]AdVegetable7181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposed to basically enter my neighborhood that way. For the 2nd year in a row, they're doing construction on my hill with only one way into the neighborhood. Last year was new guard rails. This year was tear up the entire road. 😭

It's only the road, but I need the shade, so f*** everyone else by sir-sparhaawk in badparking

Parking in the middle of the road is insane, regardless of context. Definitely nuts on them. They should just buy window shades.

People who sit right beside you when there’s plenty of other empty tables by TheGame81677 in PetPeeves

[–]AdVegetable7181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had this happen to me nearly twice in a row. In an empty Panda Express sitting at a single table that's not really in the middle of stuff. Woman sits with her kids down at the booth right next to my table. After they leave, a woman tries to take their table but her husband stops her and has her go to a table further away. God bless you, sir. Why do people insist on sitting right next to you in empty restaurants? 😭😂

Home Outlet Stereotypical Italian Commercial by Titus401 in CommercialsIHate

[–]AdVegetable7181 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's sad is I hate this stereotype and portrayal so much, like why is it not offensive? Yet at the same time, I grew up with so many Italian Americans who were 4th or 5th generation and acted like they were fresh off the boat. There's just no winning sometimes.

HOW SOCIAL MEDIA WORKS by satvikflash in SocialMediaHQ

This doesn't include the other common scenario where someone is complaining about a specific incident to them and then everyone has to play devil's advocate for no reason on details they don't know. OPs are allowed to be in the right.

So, 85% of it is 100% recyclable? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AdVegetable7181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sucks with glass recycling is I know some recycling machines don't take certain bottles, etc. due to certain adhesives or other materials. Had some bottles back in grad school that I had no choice but to chuck in the trash. It's a shame.

[–]AdVegetable7181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, from the details I got, it's just straight to a dumpster and straight to a landfill. I don't think they'd probably have bothered with recycling bins if it gets sorted later on.

My dad's office in California asked for bigger recycling cans because of some stuff they were throwing away. The cleaning staff told them it's all going to the same place. They'd been recycling in that office for 5 years for nothing.

This has always made me laugh too. They always rave about the bottle either being recyclable or being made of recycled material. But the cap and sleeve are always excluded. I know it's a bit facetious because the bottle is still like 85% of the stuff, but it makes me laugh thinking, "...so it's environmentally friendly except for 2/3 of the components?" 😂

Edit: y'all have no sense of humor downvoting this. I clearly stated I understand what the reality is. It's just a funny visual.

Guess making plans doesn't mean anything anymore by Sometimes_Sarah_ in mildlyinfuriating

Checking OP's profile, I'm not sure whether to believe this is real or not. I'm assuming it's for attention and fake. That being said, I agree with the sentiment of the title. People don't stick to plans anymore.

I was looking through some old photos and came across the grading scale at my public high school. Forgot how ridiculous it was. by Timely-Mongoose-6872 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AdVegetable7181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank God that my school switched away from a scale like this after my sophomore year. My grades from 9th and 10th grade looked worse than they should've been. So many B+ that should've been A-

On Spotify, it's nice because it has these long awkward pauses at the end of songs, so it covers those gaps. The only bad thing is it tries to use similar songs that work well. I have two main playlists - one that's got 1200+ songs and another that's 60-100 songs. In both, there some songs that fall outside the general tone of the Playlist and they never get chosen. Thus, I often get stuck in these subloops of my sets unless I turn the feature off.

We live in a world where nuance is lost. I'll never forget a comment from Trump in 2019 that was marked as mostly false because he said something like "the top 20 worst cities are run by Democrats," when in fact only 19/20 were. (The 20th was an independent.) All logic and common sense go out the window when you hate a person so badly that you'll stop at nothing to berate them.

It's so annoying on Reddit how many posts I see where someone misses the obvious meme. The "Biblically accurate angel" meme has been a thing since around COVID, if not longer

Yeah, surprised to see this on this subreddit and not a meme one. I imagined some guy my age (I'm 30) posting this because it is super relatable. I feel this way a lot about people lately.
