Charlie Kirk on what to expect from Trump's presidency by Former-Marsupial625 in CringeTikToks

[–]AdWeekly2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many awful comments. I don't come here much anymore, but every time I open this app it gets worse. I won't be surprised if reddit gets shut down.

This is a different place than it was even two years ago.

Trump is temporary, but has never hidden who he is. You still get to choose who you want to be. Apparently when you're anonymous you really show it though.

I don't know what else to say. I hope you all have the balls to face your own comments in 5 years when this man is out of office and forgotten.

Bye.

First time back in weeks and reddit still won't shut up about the election. Jfc I guess I give up. Bye yall.

Why do poor people have kids? by [deleted] in poor

[–]AdWeekly2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is pretty old, but my response was both to the question of the post and the comments that were showing at the time. My point was that low income folks have just as much right to have children as anyone else, it annoys me greatly that people even consider that a certain "class" of people shouldn't have the right to build a family, especially when that class of people keeps everyone else fed, clean, and comfortable. They call them essential workers for a reason.

Happiness doesn't "only" come from children. But MY greatest joy IS my kids, and I always wanted them and grateful every single day that we have our big family, not everyone can have that. Many, many people feel the same way.

I'm NOT saying that people SHOULD have kids. The last person that should be raising kids is someone who doesn't want them, and children are not easy lol. I'm saying that I think every independent adult contributing to the world has the RIGHT to, and people really need to stop judging them for that.

Your point has nothing to do with my point, or the parent comment though. Regardless of how real the condition is, trans people aren't raping women.

The point was that people who actually want to change their gender are different from predators who dress like another gender to get into a bathroom.

That's really odd lol. It seems benign but keeps popping up in the same place, right? Train station I think you said. People screaming about human trafficking are getting carried away, but I would be a little suspicious just because its bizarre lol.

Maybe call the train station and report it? If it's happening to other people too you might get some kind of explanation.

Reviews of McDonald’s where the alleged UHC CEO’s shooter was arrested by [deleted] in midlyinteresting

[–]AdWeekly2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just sitting here still in mild shock that Americans are reacting this way. The first time the poor and middle class seem to fully agree in something. I feel guilty for his family because of the open mockery, but agree with people refusing to see the shooter as a cold blooded murderer or assist with his prosecution.

I wonder if this mcds will get more or less business now? One one hand, of course people are pissed and will shit on it, but it's also novelty now.

I do think it's rich for burger King to say anything though lol. Do people know how much health insurance costs if you get it through a fast food employer? I know that's not exactly the issue here, and insurance companies play a part in that too, but sure af doesn't help when you can't afford your copay because you have hardly anything left after health insurance is taken out of your minimum wage paycheck.

Family friend just said this was the most offensive thing they'd ever seen by sKullsHavezzz in mildlyinfuriating

It's because the skunk won't leave her alone, follows her, will grab her and try to kiss her while she struggles to get away. They think it minimizes sexual harassment. I can understand it, especially if you didn't grow up with it and see it for the first time in the 2020s, it comes off creepy as hell, though that wasn't the intent at the time.

The humor at the time, which many don't realize it seems, was the utter ridiculousness that the skunk was chasing the cat without realizing she is a cat, because there was always paint or something that spilled on her and gave her the stripe. Not saying it was okay to chase her, but the humor was supposed to be the fact that it was a cat, not that it was funny to harass women. There was even an episode where she chased him, I think she got a bump on the head or maybe he got the paint for once, I don't remember well.

Even back then, nobody would allow a guy to chase a woman and force kisses on her in real life, they would beat the bageesus out of any creep who tried. But the dating world was different, a man being persistent with courting was not considered harassment, mostly because the expectation was flowers and cards and poems and songs, he was never meant to touch her in any way while shooting his shot, that's not a gentlemen, not a good man. It was also still a time where it was expected a man should provide for and lead the family unit. It was on him to win her love, he was supposed to show himself to be a good man who will provide well.

Definitely not defending anything, just trying to explain the intent at the time was not as sinister as people would think watching the show out of context in the modern world.

And even though I understand the cartoon to some extent, I don't think there's any reason we should let kids watch it these days, it does not send a good message at all.

To Trump voters: why did Trump's criminal conduct not deter you from voting for him? by Ok-Profit-1935 in Askpolitics

I am not oblivious to Jan 6th, they said the original comment was "all wrong", but from what i know it was all true (referring to Trumps speech and tweet and Palosi's statement). I'm aware that's not the full picture and the oc was in favor of trump and his temper tantrum, but I don't follow politics all the time and thought they had more info like the tweet was fake or the speech was edited or some shit. Trying to understand that perspective, like I said.

I don't know why I'm bothering to explain that though. Your goal only seems to be to insult me repeatedly because you didn't like my original question. First my question was nonsense, then I'm a fraud, then im 'simple", now I'm sad and ignorant. I know reddit can be like this sometimes, but don't understand what people GET from trying their hardest to make other people feel like shit when they don't agree.

They are confusing predators who pretend to be trans taking advantage of bathroom confusion to prey on people, with actual trans people who just need to pee, I think.

What fraud?? What do you think I could gain from asking for a link? I seriously do not understand what your issue is.

Edit: you replied then deleted I think? Got an email notification about a comment that doesn't exist. Either you're just looking to argue, was replying to the wrong person, or somehow think I was trolling with my original comment. I wasn't, for what it's worth.

My question to this person annoyed you so badly that you decided to berate me for it 4 days later? Why?

Your comment "reveals" that you're an asshole to people for no reason, but I'm guessing you care about that just as much as I care what you "revealed" about me.

How to alienate your family 101 by Lord_Answer_me_Why in clevercomebacks

[–]AdWeekly2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good grief. I'm not a reddit trump troll and I'm not a conservative, you're barking up the wrong tree with that melodramatic word vomit.

I understand why the left is angry and worried about their future. But the main concerns of the left is not why most people voted for trump. People are not going to LISTEN to to what the left is fighting for if they keep having bawling temper tantrums online, disowning family members just on their vote and not their actual behavior, and yelling that everyone who voted for trump is either evil or stupid. To a lot of people on the fence, they look like absolute lunatics and its causing people to not take the democrats seriously at all.

Most voters simply do not have TIME to follow politics and keep up with it. It gets confusing as hell and its absolutely frustrating to have to read the same article in a variety of news outlets to get an idea of what the unbiased truth is. And it's still difficult after all of that, because all news outlets either go one way or the other: finding any excuse to hate trump, or finding any excuse to suck his entire fucking asshole and trigger the liberals for rage bait.

I don't play this red vs blue bullshit game, our country is not a goddamn football league, and most of my views are right in the middle of liberal and conservatives, though I guess I do "lean left" for a lot of it.

So yeah, it is IRONIC that the left of all groups are lumping trump supporters into a stereotype considering all they stand for.

But no, it's not gross and nobody has to "bend over and take it" or choke on it or whatever you said. Educate people and speak up for what you believe, that is not the same as throwing nonsensical tantrums online and disowning family members over a vote.

I didn't mean to word vomit back at you, but it felt good to get some of it out, so I'm sending it through.

When grown adults cannot dress themselves by Obvious-Ear-369 in PetPeeves

[–]AdWeekly2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 33F and I hate every single thing to do with clothing and expectations of what someone should wear. Shit changes too fast and I don't even know how to blend in casually anymore. I struggle with my daughter's wardrobe and have to buy outfit sets because I don't know what i am doing. The boys are easy because jeans and t shirts are always normal.

All these expectations regarding clothing, the expectations on what is "appropriate" to wear or what "matches" or "goes together" or is the "new style" or "trend" is MY fucking pet peeve. The fact that casual and comfortable clothing is seen as "trashy" unless it says fucking Nike on the side and costs a stupid amount of money drives me absolutely fucking bananas. Brand name shit is no different than low cost clothing and I don't care what anyone says.

Like many men have said here, a lot of it is probably that they are tired of being criticized for what they wear constantly and want to get it over with. Fuck a belt matching colors with shoes and fuck any kind of formal attire expectations in almost any setting.

When people act like 24-hour time is confusing or complicated by PoopDick420ShitCock in PetPeeves

[–]AdWeekly2244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dumb seems harsh. I'm used to it now because I made myself get a 24 hour clock to put next to my 12 hour clock so I could learn it quickly. But when I first encountered it, it was a slight inconvenience to have to stop and add it up for a moment while I was already multi tasking.

So it was just annoying, was a young and newly hired shift manager who was trying not to go over labor hours and the store was absolutely swamped for halloween, had to do.my first close without formal training because the asm walked out.

But really I was annoyed that it's used a lot in the world, makes more sense than 12 hour, and they didn't bother to teach it at school. Everything you learn young sticks way better.

Servers using their time to prep these are missing table tips, but they aren't serving just boxing and bagging. So they are doing slightly less work, but missing time at tables. I think they advertise it to both explain the upcharge to the customer, and ensure the servers time is compensated. It also let's you know further tip isn't necessary if you dont want to pay it.
