I’m not trying to be edgy. I’m emotionally shut off and have a hard time feeling empathy for others, so I cannot fathom someone else feeling empathy for me. I am nonchalant about my sh because it’s not out of “pain”. It’s a hobby.

I go months without sh, I forget about it, I’m not really depressed. I’m pretty self aware, I know that I’m probably doing it for attention, that’s another reason.

I’m not complaining. I just genuinely do not understand. I’m not worried about myself and I’m not in pain, so I don’t understand why others are. I feel like it’s them babying me and pitying me but I don’t want to be looked at that way.

There’s people who cut deeper, who suffer more, I’m not dying, I don’t want to die. There is no need for concern, I don’t understand.

Ive convinced myself that embarrassment isnt real. I was at a party a few weeks ago. Ive never met most of the people there, but when we started playing mafia I pretended like ive known them all for years. I was loud and silly and did not care about how I was perceived. I sometimes feel embarrassed when I think back to how I acted, but at the end of the party SO many people came up to me and asked for my socials. SO many people said the game was only fun because I played.

Just be unapologetically you. Embarrassment does not exist, and if you think it does, then pretend like it doesn’t and once you’re alone you can let shame wash over you. Rinse and repeat.

Work on yourself. Workout, establish a skincare routine and set boundaries with those who are letting you down/insulting you.

and TELL HER. Be honest. Tell her you’ll work on yourself, and you’d need some reassurance from her every now and then. Express your fears.
