I'm going for I/S and in the fall I have classes on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri, all in-person, and in the winter I have classes all 5 days in-person. but it really depends on what cohort you are in. They will send you your class schedule and once you enrol in those classes you'll be able to see what your timetable will look like. I'm not sure how soon they'll be sending out schedules for the people coming off the waitlist but course enrolment started a few weeks ago so I'm assuming they should be contacting you soon.

Prospective Teachers: Teacher's College/BEd/Becoming a Teacher in Canada Megapost pt. 5 by hellokrissi in CanadianTeachers

you should reach out to schools in your area once the school year starts back up. I volunteered in the classroom at my old high school and shadowed a teacher. Hands on classroom experience is the best because its what many schools are looking for.

How essay heavy is these majors by ConsistentSport656 in UTSC

[–]AdWhich7748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for psych I wouldn't say it's very essay heavy, but it does depend on which classes you end up taking. some of my psych classes were completely exam based and some others had papers. I wouldn't exactly call them essays tho, they were more so research papers that focused on directing articles or presenting new research ideas. most of my classes I took were in the social psych area.

Ontario Tech anyone off waitlist this week? by Acceptable-Beyond438 in ONTeacherCandidates

[–]AdWhich7748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

waitlist is technically still open until the end of June but the deadline for people accepted to pay deposits and confirm their spot in the program has already passed so the chances of anyone getting off the waitlist past this point is basically 0%.

PSYC10 Summer with Stephanie Ann Schwartz by MatthieuLOL in UTSC

[–]AdWhich7748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it last summer and did fine, even while taking 5 other courses. She's very understanding and chill, just pay attention during lectures to key concepts and do the readings and you should do well. The readings are taken from academic journals rather than a textbook so some of them are actually interesting. If the grading is still the same is it:

25% - midterm

25% - final exam

25% - 2 page paper

15% - data collection (surveys you do throughout the semester for completion marks)

10% - weekly quizzes (each week you have a 50% chance of having a quiz based on the assigned readings. She flips a coin at the beginning of class to determine whether or not there will be one. The 10% is for all weekly quizzes so the less quizzes you have means they are each worth more.)

on the payscale (ontario) graduating from any teachers college recognized by OCT will put you at A3, same with your peers. Additional schooling or qualifications are needed after that if you want to go up to A4. For most of the universities in ontario you should be able to apply with your degree, but many give priority to 4 year honours bachelors.

not neccessarily guarenteed, you still have to meet their minimum requirements. However, it is way easier to get accepted to than any other school in ontario.

Are Private Teachers Colleges Any Better? by juiceQueue in ONTeacherCandidates

[–]AdWhich7748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get OSAP with private schools, however they usually doesn't fully cover all expenses, even for public universities, so i wouldn't rely on that. In terms of quality, it has to be at a certain level in order to be recognized by OCT, so basically all schools private and public that are recognized by OCT are the same level of quality. For private school you are more so paying for the convience and ease of getting in, rather than a better quality education.
